The Heliopan 58mm #22 Orange Filter is a basic contrast filter, primarily for use with black and white film, that strongly darkens blues and greens, increases overall contrast, and is often used for outdoor photography to emphasize contrast and shadows. It is also well-suited for decreasing atmospheric haze when photographing with long lenses and to smooth skin tones for portraiture. There is an approximate 4x filter factor with this filter, requiring an increase of 2 stops for normal exposure.

The front and rear surfaces of the filter both feature a single anti-reflection coating. Each coating helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, they offer protection to the filter substrate while helping to keep the glass clean for longer than uncoated glass.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there enough room for for your fingers to comfortably hold camera and lens with this foot?

A: Yes, the Really Right Stuff LCF-22 Foot for Nikon NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S and NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S does make it easier to hold the setup from under the lens.

Q: 2. Will this also work on the Nikon Z 600mm TC?

A: No but this Kirk will fit the Nikon 600mm f4 Z lens: https://bhpho.to/3X3icJL

Q: 3. Will this work on an old canon D60. Not the newer 60D. It is a small sensor camera but made long before the specific mounts for small sensored cameras. I assume it won't work but figured I'd ask.

A: Sorry Buddy, I don't have a clue about the D60 electronics.

Q: 4. IS this lens compatable with the Canon 6D Camera?

A: This lens was not intended for it. The Tamron 16-300mm lens is exclusively designed for APS-C sensor typ cameras, while the Canon 6D is a full frame camera. Besides the optical shortcomings, functional problems may occur. I have used that lens with a Canon 70D, which has an APS-C sensor and experienced unrelaible exposure and occasional freeze-up of the camera. Inquiries at Canon were not very helpful. The lens worked absolutely flawless with an older Canon ti4 for which I actually bought the lens anyway as my light travel outfit. As to the lens itself, one has to remember the enormous zoom range when making any judgement or comparison to other lenses in regard to sharpness, distortion and other qualities. For the convenience of such zoom range, the optical performance of this lens is surprising. After recalibration at the factory, my lens shows decent sharpness at minimum distortions. Only the C/A is annoyingly strong and always requires editing. But at least I have my action shot with this lens range, which I would have otherwise lost while having to change lenses.

Q: 5. Does the lock switch only work when set on mm18... cause I know the 18-270 tamron only had the lock switch work while on the 18mm mark.

A: yes, it only locks at 18mm setting.

Q: 6. Does tameron make a comparable lens in FX format that can be used with A Nikon d 750

A: This particular Tamron lens is for a DX not FX. Although it will work, to take full advantage of the full frame (FX) of a D750, you should use an FX lens. I use a Tamron 28-300mm which is an FX lens.

Q: 7. Does this Tamron 16-300mm + Viltrox EF-Nex iii adapter work well for recording video on Sony A6000?

A: The Tamron 16-300VC-PZD is a great walk-around lens for Canon or Nikon APS-crop bodies. You can hang it around your neck for hours at a time and you're ready for everything from bugs and flowers to elephants and cityscapes. You're even ready to copy pages out of somebody's photo album. It may not be the widest, or longest, or fastest, or quickest-focusing lens in your bag. But when you don't know what you'll encounter -- and you don't want to carry the bag -- this is the lens you'll reach for. (Tamron service is great when you drop it off a table, too.) Somebody else will have to tell you how well it works with a Viltrox adapter on a Sony, though. I've never tried that.

Q: 8. Does the lens suffer from zoom lens creep where the lens extends by itself when pointed down? Thank you.

A: The Tamron 16-300 f/3.5-6.3 will not creep when pointed downward.

Q: 9. Could we get an update on the question as to whether this fits the Nikon z 600mm f/6.3? Two answers from 2023 contradict e.o.

A: The Really Right Stuff LCF-22 Foot for Nikon NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S, and Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S is not compatible with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S Lens (Nikon Z).

Q: 10. Is it made in Japan?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is China. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.
