The Tiffen 3 x 4" 3 Magenta Soft-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a pinkish, magenta coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 3 color density provides less magenta coloration than the 4 density, but more than the 2 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 3 x 4" / 76.2 x 101.6mm.

Note: A horizontal orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the long side of the filter.

Q: 1. I just purchased the Canon T6i and have an older Tamron 18-270 that I purchased about 7 years ago. It's been a great lens I used on my Canon T1i. Is there more improvement in this Tamron 18-300 that I would notice on my new camera?

A: I too had the Tamron 18-270mm on an older camera and now have the Tamron 16-300mm on my Canon 70D. In my opinion, moving up to a newer/better camera is the biggest plus - my 70D is far superior to the T3i I had prior. As for the lenses - there is a little more range (definitely a plus!) and I think the 16-300mm is a little quieter and focuses a little quicker. I've been very happy with the upgrade and chose another Tamron because they stand behind their product and actually honor the warranty - without attitudes!

Q: 2. To attach Tamron 16-300mm lens to Canon 70D should I align the red attachment mark on the lens barret with the red dot or the white square mark on the camera ? Thanks

A: To attach the Tamron 16-300mm lens to the the 70D, you want to align the lens attachment mark to the white square.

Q: 3. Would this lens work with a Nikon D40x ?

A: It will work with a Nikon d40x.

Q: 4. HI, will this work with a 6D?

A: No, this lens is not compatible with full-frame DSLRs. It is only compatible with DSLRs with the APS-C sized sensors.

Q: 5. Why do the specs say that the lens has a Canon EF mount but it's a crop sensor lens? Shouldn't EF be compatible with all full frames? Is that a type-o?

A: No, this is definitely a fit for 'EFS' fit cameras. I bought it for my Canon D700 as a one lens solution. Generally, I am very happy with it although I do realise there is a trade off in quality when you go down this route,

Q: 6. Is this compatible with cannon 80d and do you think it is better than 18-400

A: Yes, both the 18-400 and 16-300 are compatible. Both are quite similar, but the 18-400 is slightly larger and heavier due to its slightly longer range/optical design and vibration compensation (VC) mechanisms.

Q: 7. I recently purchased a Nikon Z fc from B&H. Will I get full the functionality of this lens with my Z fc by adding a Nikon FTZ adapter? Thank you.

A: While the Tamron 16-300 is not made anymore so we cannot test it, technically it should work on your camera when using the FTZ adapter.

Q: 8. with a Nikon D300 will this lense work automaticly with a tamaron 2x teleconverter or is it better with the Nikon 2X teleconverter

A: Unfortunately, the Tamron 16-300mm lens is not compatible with a teleconverter. Lenses that have a wide angle have a lens construction where the rear element sticks out far more than lenses that have a 50mm or longer focal length. For this reason, lenses that have focal lengths wider than 50mm are not typically compatible with teleconverters. Even if you could fit one on the back of the lens, you would risk seriously damaging the rear element of the lens and the teleconverter itself.

Q: 9. Does the lens suffer from zoom lens creep where the lens extends by itself when pointed down? Thank you.

A: The Tamron 16-300 f/3.5-6.3 will not creep when pointed downward.

Q: 10. Will this sense work with the Canon EOS Rebel XT?

A: Yes, I use it on our Rebel T2i. And it works like a dream.
