Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which is best for black and white photography? Warm or Cool tone?

A: Different paper for different subject and printing styles. For more landscape and waterfalls I like cool tone and for profiles and people I like Warm tone.

Q: 2. Where can one find printer profiles for this paper for the Epson Surecolor P800. There are no profiles for this paper / printer combination on the Inkpress website?

A: Please see attached link for the inkPress page for profile info: http://www.inkpresspaper.com/profiles.asp?PaperID=53

Q: 3. How do you use it?

A: You would just need to remove the adhesive film and apply it to your medium.

Q: 4. DOES IT WORK IN INKJET PRINTERS?

A: This will work on SOME larger format inkjet printers. Typical desktop letter size printers would not work well and will damage such a printer.

Q: 5. How does this surface compare with Ilford Gold Fiber Silk? Thanks

A: Both surfaces are similar in sheen and texture. The Metallic Satin paper yields the kind of stunning results that previously could only be achieved in the darkroom. Featuring a high-gloss surface thats compatible with dye-based and pigment-based inks, Metallic Satin creates prints that are sharp, vibrant, and exceptionally rich looking, The Gold Fiber Silk will yield slightly less vibrant results.

Q: 6. I noticed in the reviews someone mentioned they used this for greeting cards- is it double sided? I'm having a hard time finding a metallic/pearl double sided 5x7 stock.

A: No, it is not double sided. And we do not have any other brands that are double sided in a metallic surface. The person in the review might of printed text on the other side but it is a trial and error method. It is not coated so the ink might not stick on that side and can on many printers smear.

Q: 7. can this be used for product labels?

A: The Inkpress Media Clear Adhesive Film Roll (17"x75') would not be ideal for product labels. This is repositionable and so would not be a permanent solution. As a proof of concept it can work, but not as a permanent solution.

Q: 8. Can I write with pen on one side?

A: Yes you can.Pencil or pen can be used.

Q: 9. Does anyone know the archival life of this paper?

A: Display Permanence ratings on this paper using pigment inks and framed under glass with 20% UV exposure can last around 110 years. Framed under glass filtered with UV protection can last 200 years. Album/Dark storage rating at 73 degrees and constant 50% RH (relative humidity) can last 300 years.

Q: 10. Is the backing clear or white?

A: The Inkpress Media Clear Adhesive Film Roll (17"x75'), BH #INACF1775, has a clear back.
