The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Blue 2 Hard Edge Graduated Filter is a hard-edged graduated color filter providing a bluish color across the image, giving a cooling effect for your photographs. The graduated filter design keeps a portion of the image neutral, resulting in a more realistic look while allowing for the sky or other bright areas to take on the color of the density. The 2 density provides less of a blue cast than the 3 density filter, but more than the 1 density.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens work with the Metabones Canon EF Lens to Blackmagic 2.5k Cinema Camera Speed Booster (Micro 4/3 Mount) on BMCC-MFT? Is there other parts of the lens apart from the autofocus system that require power to work?

A: I do not Know !

Q: 2. Does this camera have metal or plastic treads?

A: I would say that it looks more like rubber to me. The lens is heavy, if you are looking for a versatile lens I recommend it

Q: 3. From the answers re: compatibility with other Nikon D3000-series DSLRs, I assume this would be compatible with the D3500 too?

A: Yes, you will be able to use the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Nikon with the D3500 too, as it is the same mount.

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with a teleconverter? I would be buying for the Canon adapter.

A: If I remember correctly it does not, I sent my lens back as I did not like the feel of it.

Q: 5. I currently have a Canon EF-S 18-135mm (f/3.5-5.6) IS STM lens and a Canon EF 70-300mm IS USM lens that I use on my 70D. Q1) Is this Tamron 16-300mm lens as sharp as my 18-135mm lens? If not, where would the difference be most noticeable?Q2) Since the Tamron 16-300mm is designed for APS-C cameras and my EF 70-300 is designed for full-frame cameras, will I get clearer images from the Tamron throughout the 70-300mm range? If not, where would the difference be most noticeable?

A: I have the same camera and lenses you have and I did buy the Tamron 16-300mm too - more for the convenience of traveling with one lens. While I am not super knowledgable (still learning!!), what I did notice is that when I took pictures with my Canon 70-300mm at the 300mm range, then took the exact picture in the exact spot with the Tamron lens, the picture taken with the Tamron lens is NOT as close. There is definitely a difference. As far as clarity, I do not see a differnce, but again, I'm not super knowledgable in being able to pick out the differences. I've had a Tamron lens in the past with a different camera and was very satisfied with the quality as well as the customer service and support when I encountered an issue. I'm keeping all three lenses - absolutely love the convenience of the 16-300mm range on the Tamron when wanting to travel light, but I still fall back to my Canon 18-135mm when taking pictures of the grandkids, and will continue to fall back to my Canon 70-300mm when I know I'm doing longer range shots only.

Q: 6. Does this lens work with a Nikon D700?

A: The Nikon D700 has a FX format sensor and this Tamron len is for cameras with APS-C Sensors. It should be matched with a DX format camera like the Nikon D7XXX series.

Q: 7. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D5000?

A: This Tamron lens makes a model compatible with Nikon. Check with Tamron to be sure.

Q: 8. Does this lens feature manual focus override, that means autofocus can be over-ridden by rotating thelens focus ring while the shutter-release button is pressed halfway?

A: Yes to your question. Precisely as you asked your question, while holding shutter release half way you can manually change the focus with the manual focus ring. Guess I could have just said yes.

Q: 9. IS this lens compatable with the Canon 6D Camera?

A: This lens was not intended for it. The Tamron 16-300mm lens is exclusively designed for APS-C sensor typ cameras, while the Canon 6D is a full frame camera. Besides the optical shortcomings, functional problems may occur. I have used that lens with a Canon 70D, which has an APS-C sensor and experienced unrelaible exposure and occasional freeze-up of the camera. Inquiries at Canon were not very helpful. The lens worked absolutely flawless with an older Canon ti4 for which I actually bought the lens anyway as my light travel outfit. As to the lens itself, one has to remember the enormous zoom range when making any judgement or comparison to other lenses in regard to sharpness, distortion and other qualities. For the convenience of such zoom range, the optical performance of this lens is surprising. After recalibration at the factory, my lens shows decent sharpness at minimum distortions. Only the C/A is annoyingly strong and always requires editing. But at least I have my action shot with this lens range, which I would have otherwise lost while having to change lenses.

Q: 10. Will this lens work on my Nikon D800? Although the lens is configured for APS-C sensors, and not for full frame sensors, I note from some reader comments that the lens has been used successfully on the D800.

A: You can use this lens on a full frame camera like the D800, however, you will be able to see the crop factor within your frame and there will be vignette. There is an aps-c mode that you can also use on the D800 to avoid vignette.
