A: Yes. Set the SDI source to be the DUC (Down/Up Converter) set the DUC source to the HDMI input and set your DUC settings to whatever you need for your system. I have one dedicated to our churchs main worship space for such guest laptops and have never had an issue.

A: Assuming all lines are checked and the issue is the decimator, it could be a few settings. Sounds like others have answered, but Ill just add that for first time users (me early on - we have many of these now), connecting the usb to your computer and downloading the utility is a much easier way to see what the decimator is doing and which inputs are being sent to the scaler or outputs.
