The Tiffen 127mm UV 16 Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others. This filter attenuates approximately 89% of UV radiation, slightly less than a UV 17 filter.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this 16-300mm for Canon work well with the Canon C100 mark II Dual Pixel Autofocus? Thanks!!

A: The Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon will be compatible with the C100 II, yes.

Q: 2. does this lens work with canon 5d mark iii?

A: No, the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon is not compatible for use with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera. The Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera has a full-frame sensor, while the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon is designed for cameras that use the smaller EF-S sensor. Attempting to use the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon on the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera runs the risk of damaging the rear lens element on the lens, the reflexing lens inside the camera, or both, and is not recommended.

Q: 3. Does this Tamron 16-300mm + Viltrox EF-Nex iii adapter work well for recording video on Sony A6000?

A: The Tamron 16-300VC-PZD is a great walk-around lens for Canon or Nikon APS-crop bodies. You can hang it around your neck for hours at a time and you're ready for everything from bugs and flowers to elephants and cityscapes. You're even ready to copy pages out of somebody's photo album. It may not be the widest, or longest, or fastest, or quickest-focusing lens in your bag. But when you don't know what you'll encounter -- and you don't want to carry the bag -- this is the lens you'll reach for. (Tamron service is great when you drop it off a table, too.) Somebody else will have to tell you how well it works with a Viltrox adapter on a Sony, though. I've never tried that.

Q: 4. Hi there, Does the lens come with an international warranty and if so what is the number of years? Thanks!

A: The Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 comes with a 6 year USA warranty. However, you have the option to add either a two or three year coverage plan through a third party company called Square Trade, which will provide international protection. You can find more information regarding Square Trade here: http://bhpho.to/1fMHaTB

Q: 5. I just purchased the Canon T6i and have an older Tamron 18-270 that I purchased about 7 years ago. It's been a great lens I used on my Canon T1i. Is there more improvement in this Tamron 18-300 that I would notice on my new camera?

A: I too had the Tamron 18-270mm on an older camera and now have the Tamron 16-300mm on my Canon 70D. In my opinion, moving up to a newer/better camera is the biggest plus - my 70D is far superior to the T3i I had prior. As for the lenses - there is a little more range (definitely a plus!) and I think the 16-300mm is a little quieter and focuses a little quicker. I've been very happy with the upgrade and chose another Tamron because they stand behind their product and actually honor the warranty - without attitudes!

Q: 6. Will this lens auto focus with Nikon D3300?

A: The Tamron 16-300mm lens for Nikon will be fully compatible with the D3300, including autofocus.

Q: 7. Keep the 70 to 300 Is stm when you convert into a 35 mm format You would be getting one 05 mm to 450 In reality you would be duplicating the Tamron as far as the reach. Which is 35 mm terms is 24 to 450 Tamron lens are great because you don't have to change them it's more or less one lens. However the Tamron is very dark and it will not give you the sharpness that you are now getting in your's canon 70 mm to 300 mm. s I know that you would not to like changing lenses. But in this case it's best to stay with what you have right now. You're 18 to 135 mm STM is about two times sharper than a Tamron I keep the same lens as you have which is 18 to 135 STM on the camera most of the time. The Tamron's macro is OK however the only way the macros going to work is if you have it on a tripod. In the final analysis stay with what you have in both cases they are sharper than the Tamron.

A: actually use this lens on a sony, needed to replace a 18-250 lens. good walk around lens, super sharpness was not a requirement, just zoom range. if i need the sharpness i switch to a prime lens, 85mm or 135mm works very well depending how much room you have to work.

Q: 8. Will Tamron 16-300mm work for new Canon EOS 77D in live-view mode?

A: I tried the Tamron 16-300mm on my Sony a7RII with a Sony A-MOUNT TO E-MOUNT ADAPTOR(BH# SOLAEA3) and had serious issues with focusing. I returned the lens although I loved its range and it may have just been the adapter's problem. I settled for the more compatible Sony 24-240mm E-mount and am avoiding adapters in future. Will it work for the new Canon EOS 77D? You will not know until you try it. B&H are very good about returns if you are not happy with it.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the Nikon D3000?

A: Yes, the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 is compatible with the Nikon D3000.

Q: 10. Will tamron 16-300mm Lens compatible with canon eos sl2? Or need firmware upgrade?

A: This lens would be compatible with the Canon EOS SL2.
