Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the D850 on bulb mode?

A: Yes this should work as it works using the 10 pin connection port. This is similar to both the MC 30a & MC 36a from Nikon. This remote has worked my D700 & D810 and allows for full shutter functions once set on the camera. Once I order the D850 I'm sure it will work on that as well but will know for sure once it's in my hands. Hope this helps as it's a nice remote.

Q: 2. What to do if I order your product with Sony connector and received with a different one?

A: If are you still within the terms of the B&H Photo 30-Day Return Policy, contact customer service at B&H Photo for a product exchange. If you are beyond the 30-Day Return window, reach out to Vello Customer Service to resolve your issue. Please be sure to have your B&H Photo sales order number handy when you call Vello.

Q: 3. Will this remote trigger work every time, when my Canon 7D MK11 has mirror lock activated. So far I have had problems with the Hanel Gigga T pro, and the canon Rc6 wireles remote not firing sometimes with Mirror lock on In bulb mode ?

A: Yes it does work on the 7DMK2. I just verified it! The counter starts after fully press of trigger, the mirror goes up, then stops at 1sec...then press again to open the shutter and the counter resumes counting the time. You do not have to hold down the trigger button for the length of time the shutter is open. Hope that helps!

Q: 4. Will it work on the Olympus PEN F?

A: Yes, this version of the Vello ShutterBoss is compatible with the Olympus PEN F.

Q: 5. I see that it can take from 1-399 shots. If I want to take a time lapse of over 399 shots, will it require me to reset it or will it keep taking pictures?

A: If you want to take more than 399 shots, you would not need to reset the remote. You would simply need to set it to take an unlimited amount of photos. The remote could then continue to trigger the shutter until the camera ran out of batteries.

Q: 6. What is the practical maximum range for this device?

A: I tested this weekend in response to this question, and I was able to still trigger the shutter from 35m distance. It may work out further, but I ran out of space.

Q: 7. how long is the attached cable ?

A: The attached Cable Length is 2.7' / 85 cm

Q: 8. Will this work with Canon S110? Thanks

A: No

Q: 9. I purchased a Shutterboss a year ago for my 7D. The cable connection to the Canon socket was terrible - it was loose and only connected 20% of the time - so I returned it (thank you B&H) Is this a new and improved version?

A: This is the Version II of the Vello Shutterboss Timer Remote Switch for Canon and is the most current, improved version.

Q: 10. Can the interval be changed on the intervalometer while the timer is running?

A: You would need to stop the intervalometer in order to make changes to the settings.
