Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the audio format within the mxf file? Is it AC-3 or something else?

A: This camcorder records sound as 2-Channel Linear PCM Audio (16-Bit/48 Khz) which is embedded within the video file.

Q: 2. What is the base sensitivity(ISO) of the sensor at 0dB?

A: I am sorry but camcorders like the Canon XF100 do not have an ISO setting, which is why information as to its base ISO is not published.

Q: 3. Could this work with the LS300? If so what cable would I need to get this to work with the battery?

A: I am sure it could be made to work. You would need a cable with barrel connectors on both ends. Unfortunately, at this time there is no known cable available for the LanParte VBP-01 Sony V-Mount Battery Pinch to connect to the JVC GY-LS300. I could not find one with either LanParte or JVC. I would then have to recommend that you get a technician experienced in making such cables to create a custom one for you. Camera rental houses often have people who can do this for a fee.

Q: 4. Do you know if a Black Magic pocket cinema Camera will fit in this rig?

A: Since this kit is designed for larger Canon DSLRs the Pocket Cinema Camera would fit in it, but you may find it to be far more rig than you actually need. Also the power cable is for batteries that run off of an LP-E6. I would like to suggest the Lanparte Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Basic Handle Rig with Follow Focus instead. It will be more size appropriate for the Pocket Cinema Camera and you can always add the things it does not include, like a matte box and monitor.

Q: 5. I see that it is compatible with the Canon 60D, does that mean it will also fit the 70D and 80D models too?

A: Yes, this will be compatible with the Canon 70d and 80d as well as the 60d.

Q: 6. Could this work with the JVC GY-LS300?

A: We think that it should. Probably the battery mount will need to be reversed to accommodate the longer body of the JVC GY-LS300 vs a DSLR.

Q: 7. Does this include the handgrip accessory with the xlr and 3.5mm inputs?

A: Yes, the top handle grip is included with this camera. If you do not want the XLR inputs then I would opt for the consumer equivalent to this camera, which is B&H # CAHFG30.

Q: 8. Will the black magic pocket 4k work on this rig?

A: This kit is really designed with Mirrorless and DSLR cameras in mind. We do not recommend it with the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. Instead we suggest B&H # SHBM4SMKI from Shape, which is a kit designed specially for the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. https://bhpho.to/2Eg4BcY

Q: 9. What write-speed does it need in a Compactflash card for top quality recording? Is there a significant difference between a card with a write speed of 120 MB/s and one with 160 MB/s? Also, does this camera work with any size of memory card -- 32MB/64 MB/128MB or is there a particular size it requires? Thank you very much.

A: I use a 160 MB Write speed and 32 GB storage on my XF100 and it works perfectly. This is a great camera, give it the faster speed so it can perform to its fullest.

Q: 10. Can this fit the c100 mk 2?

A: This is a very nicely designed and full feature rig for a DSLR. I would say however that the C series of Canon cameras, while you could probably get it to mostly fit, I doubt the C arm would clear.
