Kodak Professional Ektar 100 is a daylight-balanced color negative film characterized by an ultra-vivid color palette, high saturation, and an extremely fine grain structure. Utilizing the cinematic VISION Film technology, this film's smooth grain profile pairs with a micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion to make it especially well-suited to scanning applications, and advanced development accelerators offer extended versatility when making enlargements. Ektar has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21°, and advanced cubic emulsions and proprietary DIR couplers render it with high sharpness, fine detail, and a well-defined edge quality. The combination of rich colors, fine grain, and optimized sharpness benefit this film's use for nature, travel, and outdoor photography, as well as fashion, product, and other commercial applications.

This item is five rolls of 120-format roll film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the 120 film work in the Hasselblad 500c/m?

A: When using a Hasselblad A12 film back, you can certainly shoot this film with your Hasselblad 500CM

Q: 2. Can we ferry it through the x-ray machine in the airport? Is any x-ray pack required?

A: Do not use x ray safety packs, or leave film in checked baggage or in your camera. All of these actions will cause security to be suspicious and raise the power in the x-ray machine to the point that it will fog and thus destroy your unprocessed film. (Processed film is unaffected.) If you have a small amount of film, have it in clear zip lock bags, in the manufacturer's containers and then ask for a hand inspection so that you avoid x-ray all together. If you have a large amount of film, it is strongly recommended that you call security ahead of time so that the process may proceed smoothly. FYI, unprocessed film can go through USA TSA hand carry machines unaffected 1-4 times. 5 or more times or higher ISO may fog.

Q: 3. What is the spool material that this comes on? Is the spool plastic or metal?

A: The spools are plastic. All current 120 film uses plastic spools.

Q: 4. Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about Portra 160 VC or NC. Can anyone suggest a color negative 120 film size equivalent to Fuji Velvia? I'm looking for vivid, saturated color and fine grain. Is Portra 160 the best bet these days? Thanks!

A: For color neg I would suggest Ektar 100. High color saturation and extremely fine grain. It looks really nice pushed to 400. Portra 160 also looks amazing pushed to 320 or overexpose a stop or so.

Q: 5. Will I get the original box of five packs? Or I’ll receive five individual packs of film instead?

A: Yes, you will get the five pack of Kodak Professional Portra 160 Color Negative Film (120 Roll Film, 5-Pack) which comes in a box.

Q: 6. Hi when is the expiration date?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). When film is short-dated, the expiration month/year will be listed on our webpage. Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 7. How many exposures can be achieved if i use a Yashica Mat124G?

A: The Yashica-Mat 124g camera is a 6x6 format camera, which with 120 format film will yield 12 exposures.

Q: 8. Will this film work with my Rolleicord ?

A: Yes, it is compatible with your Rolleicord.

Q: 9. Can this be used for slides?

A: No it cannot. This is negative film, slides are positive . See the link below for 35mm slide film options:http://bhpho.to/1breWJi

Q: 10. Hi. I m a student living in korea.I saw the kodak professional portra 400 color negative film (35mm roll film, 36exposures) that is being provided on your company's homepage. If i can buy this film, can you let me know portra 400s expiry date stocked lately?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). One of my favorite film stocks currently available. I even prefer it to the more popular Portra. Too bad the price has went through the roof!

Better than portra for most of what I shoot because I never shoot people. Seems like everyone loves to shoot portra for everything these days but give Ektar a try, you'll likely get better results and save money

As much as people have slept on this film, I've been a fan of it since first starting my film journey years ago. This will forever be one of my favs. from the kodak line.

Kodak Ektar 100 provides the most realistic film in C41. It's easy to work with and the results are consistent.

I use it with my Yashica Mat 124G and couldn't be happier. Took some time to get used to it though.

Definitely give it a try.

Great color saturation (something I really like in my photos). Shot my first roll of this last summer and just loved the results. I ended up buying a 5 pack for this season. Well worth the price.
