Kodak Professional Ektar 100 is a daylight-balanced color negative film characterized by an ultra-vivid color palette, high saturation, and an extremely fine grain structure. Utilizing the cinematic VISION Film technology, this film's smooth grain profile pairs with a micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion to make it especially well-suited to scanning applications, and advanced development accelerators offer extended versatility when making enlargements. Ektar has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21°, and advanced cubic emulsions and proprietary DIR couplers render it with high sharpness, fine detail, and a well-defined edge quality. The combination of rich colors, fine grain, and optimized sharpness benefit this film's use for nature, travel, and outdoor photography, as well as fashion, product, and other commercial applications.

This item is five rolls of 120-format roll film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What kind of film camera can be paired with this film roll? It's longer and skinner than all the camera film compartments I have found. If you have any recommendations for a camera that would be helpful!

A: Kodak Professional Portra 160 Color Negative Film is a 120 medium format film. Most medium format cameras are no longer being produce or sale as new cameras. Some of the most popular brands for these cameras are Hasselblad, Mamiya, RolleiFlex, Linhof,Pentax and Bronica. Holga used to make affordable plastic cameras for creative photographers.

Q: 2. Will I get the original box of five packs? Or I’ll receive five individual packs of film instead?

A: Yes, you will get the five pack of Kodak Professional Portra 160 Color Negative Film (120 Roll Film, 5-Pack) which comes in a box.

Q: 3. If I were using an Argus Seventy Five with this film, about how many exposures could I get from one roll?

A: Both the Argoflex Seventy-Five and Argus Seventy-Five use 620 film not 120 (120 and 620 film is exactly the same size). He have Porta 160 in 620 size, please use this B&H code in our search box: B&H # KOP160620. The cameras make square 6x6 images and will yield 12 frames on a single roll. Here is our complete selection of 620 films: http://bhpho.to/PQQOaH

Q: 4. What is the spool material that this comes on? Is the spool plastic or metal?

A: The spools are plastic. All current 120 film uses plastic spools.

Q: 5. will this work with canon rebel film cameras?

A: Yes, this will work with that camera. Thw rebel takes 35mm film. Have fun! ;)

Q: 6. If your goal is to take pictures that start out using film, then scan them into digital format that can be edited using software to produce digital pictures, what type film is best to use --- Color Negative film or Color Slide film?

A: Color negative is a bit more forgiving in terms of overexposure compared to slide film, generally speaking. If you are used to shooting digitally, then color negative would be a better place to start. Also, it's much more difficult to find a lab that will do color slide processing, dependent upon where you live.

Q: 7. Does B&H carry cases of 100 rolls?

A: Regarding the Kodak Professional Portra 400 Color Negative Film (120 Roll Film, 5-Pack), no, Kodak only provides 5 units per box.

Q: 8. What is the expiration date? The picture shows May 2011?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 9. I'm looking for film for an old Brownie Hawkeye. Will this work?

A: The Kodak Brownie Hawkeye camera uses 620 film, not 120 film, and would not be compatible with the Kodak 120 Professional Portra 400 Color Negative Film (Pro Pack, 5 Rolls) listed above. You would have to choose one of the 620 roll films we have listed on our website. http://bhpho.to/1fbaWFp

Q: 10. Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about Portra 160 VC or NC. Can anyone suggest a color negative 120 film size equivalent to Fuji Velvia? I'm looking for vivid, saturated color and fine grain. Is Portra 160 the best bet these days? Thanks!

A: For color neg I would suggest Ektar 100. High color saturation and extremely fine grain. It looks really nice pushed to 400. Portra 160 also looks amazing pushed to 320 or overexpose a stop or so.

I was looking for a Kodachrome-like saturation in a negative film and decided to try this out. Worked well with the fall colors.
