The Tiffen 67mm Skylight 1-A Filter is a general use filter with a slight pink tint to help improve overall color accuracy and clarity. The light pink coloration helps to reduce the overall bluish cast of daylight and is especially effective when photographing landscapes and in shade.

The Sky 1A filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I already have and am happy with the Tamron 18-270mm. Why upgrade?

A: If I had the Tamron 18-270 Nikon already, I wouldn't upgrade. There isn't that much difference in the two.

Q: 2. does this lens work with canon 5d mark iii?

A: No, the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon is not compatible for use with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera. The Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera has a full-frame sensor, while the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon is designed for cameras that use the smaller EF-S sensor. Attempting to use the Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon on the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera runs the risk of damaging the rear lens element on the lens, the reflexing lens inside the camera, or both, and is not recommended.

Q: 3. Will this lens work on my Nikon D800? Although the lens is configured for APS-C sensors, and not for full frame sensors, I note from some reader comments that the lens has been used successfully on the D800.

A: You can use this lens on a full frame camera like the D800, however, you will be able to see the crop factor within your frame and there will be vignette. There is an aps-c mode that you can also use on the D800 to avoid vignette.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with the Nikon D3200? Image stabilization too?

A: Yes. This lens has an internal focus motor which is necessary in order to be compatible with the D3200. This lens has VC (Vibration Control). That is Tamron's version of stabilization.

Q: 5. good for sports?

A: The Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Nikon autofocus is too slow sports photography.

Q: 6. will this lens fit the d800?

A: Yes, but since it is a crop lens you will lose more than half your resolution using this lens. You would be better off using a full frame lens to take advantage of all the benefits of your full frame camera.

Q: 7. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D5000?

A: This Tamron lens makes a model compatible with Nikon. Check with Tamron to be sure.

Q: 8. To attach Tamron 16-300mm lens to Canon 70D should I align the red attachment mark on the lens barret with the red dot or the white square mark on the camera ? Thanks

A: To attach the Tamron 16-300mm lens to the the 70D, you want to align the lens attachment mark to the white square.

Q: 9. How do the Tamron 16-300 mm and 18-400 mm lenses compare for sharpness, CA, etc?

A: The 18-400mm has the greater reach however it has CA. The 16-300mm has less reach but less CA plus macro and is much wider with 16mm. I would consider the 16-300mm myself.

Q: 10. Can this lens be used with canon EOS M

A: It can be used with the EOS M, but requires a special adapter. See the link below for details on the adapter:http://bhpho.to/KLcffS
