Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what is the mil thickness

A: The thickness of that paper is 10.27 mil.

Q: 2. can I use this in my laser printer?

A: It is not recommended for laser printers, nor made for them. It will work with both dye and pigment inks on an inkjet printer

Q: 3. Will this paper work on the pixma ip8720?

A: Yes, the Canon Premium Fine Art Rough Photo Paper (8.5 x 11", 25 Sheets) is a Canon genuine paper that can be used with the PIXMA iP8720.

Q: 4. What does used paper rolls mean? Is there paper missing or is it just open box?

A: The Canson Infinity PhotoSatin Premium RC 270 Archival Photo Inkjet Paper (24" x 100' Roll) is a new product, however we do currently have some that are used for sale as well. Our used products have been owned and used and then sold back to us, which we then sell again at a discounted price.

Q: 5. Is there a gloss (lustre) differential between the unprinted (white) areas and the printed areas? I like Museo Silver Rag because it does not exhibit this differential, but the paper is very expensive.

A: I don't remember any gloss difference; however I bought this paper for testing to replace Ilford smooth pearl after Ilford went bankrupt. My go to art paper is Canson platine. I use these mid priced luster papers for printing photo exhibits for my law practice and law firm. I assumed that the Canson paper would be OK and consistent from lot to lot. This Canson paper was better than epson luster but lacked the contrast/ pop and feel of the Ilford(310gsm instead of 270) that really seems to impress both Jurors and Judges.

Q: 6. is this paper archival?

A: No, the Canson Infinity PhotoGloss Premium RC Paper is not archival.

Q: 7. Has anyone been able to compare prints on these papers with the glossy/satin versions?

A: For photos that are going to be moved around, matte will be better. Not only is it less sensitive when it comes to fingerprints, it's also more resistant to light and doesn't create any reflection. Images with dark tones will have much more contrast.

Q: 8. Would this fit into the Canon Prograf 1000?

A: Yes, you can use the Canon Photo Paper Pro Luster (17 x 22", 25 Sheets) with the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 17" Professional Photographic Inkjet Printer, B&H # CAPP1000.

Q: 9. Can I use this paper with the Pixma ix6820? If so, which icc profile and settings should I use?

A: The Canon Premium Fine Art Rough Photo Paper (13 x 19", 25 Sheets) would not work with the Canon PIXMA iX6820 Wireless Inkjet Printer as it does not fall within the weight limitation of the iX6820, which is 28 lb.

Q: 10. Is this an inkjet paper?

A: Yes this is an inkjet paper but meant for higher end inkjet that handle fine art papers.

If your looking for a higher grade of luster paper this is it. the price point is only marginally higher than Epson Premium Luster but the thicker paper weight (310gm) gives it a much more substantial feel.

This paper is slightly thicker/heavier than the Epson ULTRA Premium. Thus it is better for a one page year at a glance calendar...but not by a lot. Both are exceptional .
