Glidecam Devin Graham Signature Series, HD-PRO, XR-PRO, HD-2000, and HD-4000

Can be used as vest/arm support for motorized gimbals such as DJI Ronin or FreeFly MoVI

The X-10 comes with both sections of its support arm being able to move vertically, compared to the Smooth Shooter which comes with only the front section of its support arm being able to move vertically. Also, the X-10 comes with a trimmable arm-to-vest connector.

The GLIDECAM X-10'S support arm can be boomed up and down, as well as pivoted in and out and side to side. The combined booming and pivoting action of the support arm isolates your motions from the camera in a way that creates smooth camera footage.

The Glidecam X-10 support vest is lightweight, comfortable and can be adjusted to fit a wide range of operators. High endurance, dual-density, EVA foam padding, and T6 aluminum alloy create a vest that can hold and evenly distribute the weight of the system across the operator's shoulders, back, and hips. For safety, quick release buckles allow the vest to be removed quickly.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How big is the gimbal handle? I have a friend who has an off brand flycam galaxy arm and steadycam vest says it fits 16mm gimbal handle. I know I want to order the glidecam hd2000, but won't get the vest unless it fits the off brand one he can practically give me. Anyway, does anyone know what the gimbal handle size is and if it would work with a 16mm arm post?

A: The Glidecam HD2000 gimbal handle has a 7/8/0.875 /22.225mm hole. The post from the off brand arm would be 6.225 mm too small. That is not much so maybe it will still work. Your move.

Q: 2. Will this be strong enough for a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and a 24-105mm Lens?

A: Yes, the Canon 24-105mm lens is 1.47 lbs and the Canon 5D Mark III body is 1.89 lbs. The Glidecam HD2000 will accomodate 2-6 lbs, thus making this set-up compatible.

Q: 3. Will the Glidecam X-10 Support Arm Stabilizer support 25 lbs?

A: The Glidecam X10 is designed to be used with specific Glidecam Stabilizers. The option with the largest load capacity is the HD4000, which can handle up to 10 pounds and weighs around 3 pounds itself. The X-10 is really designed to handle no more than that combined weight of around 13 pounds. It will not support 25 pounds. Feel free to email us at provideo@bhphoto.com so we can help you find the appropriate Arm and Vest Kit for your needs.

Q: 4. Will this work with HD PRO?

A: Yes, this will work with the Glidecam HD-Pro.

Q: 5. Can the flat plate on top of the glidecam be removed and just put the quick release plate on?

A: No the flat plate on top is also the front to back and side to side adjustment. The quick release that was promoted for this item is a very poor design. Difficult to release because of the quick release location.

Q: 6. does the gimbal move

A: If balanced properly the sled and post should remain level and plumb regardless of the handle position.

Q: 7. Will this work with a Blackmagic Pocket Cam or GH4?

A: Yes its will. The GH4 will be a little bit trickier to balance just because it is so light. I always have an easier time balancing lightweight DSLR's when I add an attachment to the camera to provide a little more weight (such as a camera mounted LED).

Q: 8. Is there a Ronin S adapter for the X-10?

A: We are not aware of an adapter for this system that will allow you to use a Ronin-S. However you could look at the Glide Gear DNA 6000 Stabilization System with Vest, Arm & Gimbal Adapter instead, B&H # GLDNA6000VAO. It will be able to work with the Ronin-S. https://bhpho.to/2DGkokw

Q: 9. It's refurbished or new?

A: This Glidecam X-10 Dual Support Arm Stabilizer Vest System, is new in a box and not used or refurbished.

Q: 10. Is there a warranty with this item?

A: The HD2000 comes with a 90 Day Warranty.

I have tested with Canon 7D and works great, I have also bought the Glidecam Smooth Shooter vest and it's amazing, by now I just need a little more practice! :)

I bought this kit to use while making an independent film, and now I use it for ALL of my WEDDINGS! It really makes a huge difference on moving shots! It gives your moving shots that smoothness you need to make your shot look very professional. It is VERY TRICKY to learn how to use it at first, so don't expect it to magicly work for you instantly. Give it time, and PRACTICE! You MUST balance it correctly! Go to YouTube and search for video tutorials on how to properly balance it; it's not HARD, but it is TIME CONSUMING, so have patience and DO NOT skip any steps. Also, when balancing, don't forget to add all items you will have during the shoot (camera with light, microphone, even the tape/memory card, etc.). If your camera has an LCD screen MAKE SURE it is OPEN when you balance it (every variation will slightly throw off its balance). I HIGHLY recommend this kit to anyone who's serious about their moving shots and wants GOOD quality for a relatively low price. Sure there are much better ones out there, but they are a LOT more expensive too. Also the kit itself will save you some money versus buying both items separately (which you'll need anyway). If you do professional video (weddings, events, etc) the cost of this item will pay for itself within a couple of gigs.

I love the professional feel you get by using this glidecam hd 2000. I get fantastic, smooth shots and though it takes some getting used to, relatively short shots are easy to do almost immediately. It is, however, a pretty heavy beast, and that's not something i was fully prepared for, though i guess getting myself in better shape isn't a bad side effect. I would recommend a quick release plate on top to ensure that you can switch from glidecam mode to another tripod and/or just roam free with your camera. In my case, the Canon 7D is perfect and i'm considering getting the arm brace to possibly help me handle longer-term shooting without hurting my arm. I also should note that balancing the camera was really quite easy because of the very thorough online videos and instructions. It was amazing to get it nearly fully balanced in about 30 mins and be able to shoot shortly thereafter. With my quick release plate, Canon 7D and 18-135 lens, i used three metal weights on the back an two weights on the front and it nearly balanced itself.

I bought this for use with a Canon 60D and Tokina 11-16 f2.8 lens. I was able to assemble and balance the rig in under an hour, just follow the instructions. My first run with this was filming a flash mob. It was really crowded and everyone was constantly moving. The rig is so small I was able to get some great shots without bumping into anyone. I highly recommend this if you camera is light enough.

I am using this Glidecam stabilizer with my Sony HDR-FX1 and Nikon D5000. The stabilizer is easy to calibrate and the video tutorial on this can also be found on website. It is a bit bulky when compared to its rivals such as Merlin but much better than other stabilizers.
