Q: 1. Everyone says this is heavy, but when I look at the specks it says 7.1lbs. Which is basically the same as the really right stuff carbon fiber tripod (5lbs) and head (2 lbs) that costs $1,600. Is it really heavier??

A: I like it, even though it is about 7 lbs. I'm over 70, have been using this for about 8 years professionally and like the sturdiness and ability to adjust legs to any position to get the right shot/angle. I shoot real estate.

Q: 2. Will the 3way head support the Photek TRI-X-2500 Tripod Extender with a light weight camcorder or camera. I'm concerned about the quick release. Will everything work together?

A: This tripod has a load capacity of 19.8 pounds. It should be able to handle the weight of a small camera or camcorder and B&H # PHT2500. However we suggest that you use a sandbag on the other side that the camera is not on to keep the tripod balanced. An option that you can fill yourself, as you may not need a full 5 pounds, would be the ideal choice for that. https://bhpho.to/2K5SHpe

Q: 3. Can this tripod shoot low angle shots?

A: no, as you can see this tripod is quite tall by itself without extending its legs.

Q: 4. I am having trouble locking the pan mechanism? it doesn't want to stay locked.

A: The pan lock knob (part # J488) may be cracked. Either that, or the pan lock knob may be locked into place tightly, and the head is breaking free from the cetner column. It is difficult to tell without seeing the tripod/head combination.

Q: 5. Would this tripod be good for taking videos?

A: The Pro 700DX was not designed with video in mind, mainly still photography.

Q: 6. Will this tripod work with Canon rebel t2ii?

A: You shouldn't have any problems with this combination.

Q: 7. Can a fluid head be mounted on this tripod for better video performance? If so, any recommendations?

A: The Digital Balance Pro is an excellent video head for these legs.a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/825418-REG/Daiwa_Slik_618_665_Digital_Balance_Pro_Fluid.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/825418-REG/Daiwa_Slik_618_665_Digital_Balance_Pro_Fluid.html/a

Q: 8. do you have this one in black for the same price?

A: We do offer the model in black, but currently it is a special order item and it is not the same price as the two-tone version is. See the link below for details on the model in black:http://bhpho.to/1gEWlyY

Q: 9. Is the pan and tilt eead removable so you may use a gimbal head?

A: Yes Slik Pro 700 DX Tripod with 700DX 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head (Titanium) comes with a removable head and you can place a gimbal head on its place.

Q: 10. How can I attach my Oben ball head to the tripod?

A: A technician at Oben did not recommend using the ball head on this tripod. Apparently the male end of the screw is only 3/16 inch. The technician believes it is fine for attaching an SLR but would be unwieldy for the base of the tripod.

The tripod is the best I have ever had. ... All in all everything was almost unbelievable. I would definately suggest B&H Photo to anyone.

This is by far the better constructed tripod I have owned to-date. What compelled me to purchase this was the weight support the tripod offered. I was debating between a ball-head or Pan/Tilt and after much research it would appear the pan/tilt is better suited for bigger DSL-Rs. The downside being it would require a bit longer to adjust. Overall, I have used the tripod in night photography under windy condition and the tripod was very stable. The tripod is very easy to adjust and can extend well above 6' ft if needed. Lastly, it is a bit heavier than what I am used to, so plan ahead if you need the tripod prior to the trip!

I shoot everything from weddings to cars and a good tripod is essential. Its solid, real solid.. it also extends to a serious height I'm 6th and with just the legs extended its perfect height. it could go another 2 feet or so if i would ever need it. For the build quality i feel its pretty light weight it comes with a nice bag/backpack. Overall i don't think i could have found a better tripod for the price. the Levels are a huge plus as well!

Great tripod for the money. I'm a beginner in photography and didn't want to drop a ton of money on an expensive tripod and read great reviews about this one. This is a sturdy/solid tripod, and although it is a little heavy, it is far from unbearable. Very solid construction and easy to handle. I'm very pleased with it.

I needed a tripod for a photography class. This is an excellent value - well made and fairly easy to use. The head works well and the tripod is easy to set up and very stable. Even with the included carrying case, however, it's not the easiest thing to carry around. I highly recommend it for non-travel use.

This tripod is very sturdy and light. It holds my 5d with 70to210 lens with no problem. I have looked at many tripods priced up to $500.00 and found the 700DX to be a excellent value. So far the only thing I have found wrong is the carry bag that is included. It insults the tripod and should be left out of the box.

What an incredible tripod. The day I got it I took it outside to take Lunar Photos during high winds, 30 - 40 mph. This tripod was the key to taking great photos. It is a tank. I have read other complain about jerky movements but I have not experienced this at all. Other tripods I have used have sagged when locking it in position. Not this one. I locked it and it stayed where I put it. Great product.
