A: It's a decent option, but it all comes down to how professional you want your sound to be. As long as you're fairly close to the subject, it will pick up good sound. For something longer than 10-15 seconds, i would take out a lav mic and have the interviewee hold the mic.

A: As long as your camera has a hot-shoe mount, the mic can be mounted. As long as your camera has an 1/8 audio input, the mic will plug into your camera. If you have both options, the yes it wil work on your camera. One thing that I do not like baout this mic is that it cannot be adjusted for direction. It has a cheap mount and thecamera will only point in the direction that the mount was molded in, which does not necessarily mean exactely straight.

A: The Rode Video Micro is not directly compatible with the XA11. You would need to also use the Rode VXLR+ adapter (BH #ROVXLRP) or the Deity D-XLR adapter (B&H # DEDXLR) with the phantom power (MIC +48V) on the XA11 activated.
