A: It wouldn't work well. The tripod head supports significantly more than the tripod could, and even with a medium-weight camera, due to the combination of head + medium camera/lens combo, the center of gravity would make it more likely to topple over. A good combination with the 005 from RRS would likely be the BPC-16 microball or (if you want to push it) the more compact BH30.

Q: 7. I feel 2nd stage center column (top most one) is actually a plastic material even thought it look like carbon material. Also screw threads of top 2nd stage column threads is plastic which can be screwed to round base. This plastic screw threads in long run usage will be like a 'weak link in strong chain'.
