The Countryman E6 Cardioid Microphone is a miniature ear-set microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The cardioid version effectively minimizes off-axis feedback and noise from nearby monitor speakers, instruments and noisy sources. Flexible microphone positioning is maintained and the included windscreen minimizes the wind noise often associated with cardioid microphones.

The E6 is set apart from the E6i with its stiffer flexible boom. The flexible boom maintains its shape for custom, single-user size adjustments.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is cocoa and the cable terminates to a 3-pin XLR connector for direct connection to microphone preamplifiers, mixers, etc.

A miniature cardioid capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters. The Duramax 2mm diameter cable provides extra strength, flexibility and durability

The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing off-axis residual noise from nearby monitor speakers, instruments and loud sources. The flexible boom provides a stiff fit that maintains its shape for single user applications.

This E6's sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Q: 1. I have a nikon d5500 and this is not working! It still records with the bad internal mic :( help???

A: The Rode VideoMicro Microphone is a bit of an oddity. It's only intended for certain consumer style devices that supply it power through the mic input; such as a smart phones, audio recorders and some video cameras like the DJO Osmo. It doesn't work with many DSLR cameras.

Q: 2. Will the Rode VideoMicro work with Sony AX1000 video camera?

A: Yes, but your problem will come when you try to mount it into the smart shoe of that camera. The mount is deeper than most, which makes mounting accessories that are not proprietary very difficult if not impossible.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with Galaxy Note 4 Smartphone?

A: The mic is powered requires camera plug-in power (min. 3V) not provided by smartphones.

Q: 4. Will it work for a Nikon D3400?

A: No. Unfortunately, the Nikon D3400 DSLR Camera does not have an input to connect an external microphone. In order to use an external microphone like the Rode VideoMicro Ultracompact Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone with the D3400, you will need to use an external digital audio recorder to record the audio separately and then combine the video and audio tracks in post production.

Q: 5. Can a flash be mounted along with this mic onto a Canon 5D Mark IV?

A: You would need to use a multi-shoe bracket to be able to do that like B&H # VECB415

Q: 6. will it work with a canon eos 80D?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. Can I use an XLR adapter with this microphone? I have a XLR cable and I am wondering if I can use this mic with it.

A: The VideoMicro relies on the low voltage 'plug-in-power' and this is only supplied via minijack connections, so an XLR connection won't be suitable.

Q: 8. Will this work with a iPhone 7?

A: I don't have an iPhone but, it should work with the iPhone if you get the proper 3.5mm adapter.

Q: 9. what cameras is it compatible with? I have Canon T2i

A: I have been using it with a t4i with great success.

Q: 10. Will this mic work well when shooting video of marching bands at outdoor sporting events.

A: Just found a great video where the guy is reviewing the GoPro Hero 5 Black using this mic (via an adapter) -- you can hear the stark difference with between the on-camera mic vs. the Rode VideoMicro in various situations: https://youtu.be/hgqDGsCDkyc .
