Replicating the appearance and feel of a traditional F-surface darkroom paper, Epson Exhibition Fiber Paper aims to provide users with a beautiful soft gloss finish for their digital prints. A fiber base offers a professional feel with a weight of 325 gsm and thickness of 13 mil, making it an excellent choice for galleries and exhibitions. Also, by utilizing some optical brightening agents the paper is able to reach a whiteness of 147% and a brightness of 111%. This makes it possible to create prints with deep blacks and subtle tonal gradations, suitable for advanced black-and-white printing as well as long-lasting color prints. Additionally, this paper is instant drying.

This paper is available here as a 25-pack of 17 x 22" sheets.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Epson v600 come with free Silverfast software?

A: No, the Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner does not come with LaserSoft Imaging SilverFast SE Plus Scanning Software for Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner. You can buy the download of LaserSoft Imaging SilverFast SE Plus Scanning Software for Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner separately, B&H #LAEP541SEPLS.

Q: 2. I'm looking for a great scanner to scan mostly old photos and other printed material. Is the 850 worth it? I'm reading mixed reviews below. I realize this may be overkill but I don't mind spending the money to get something that is better than most other scanners.

A: It works well for me scanning in slides. The epson scan software didn't do ice, but the other software it came with did. Although sometimes it seems to do really well with dust removal other times not as much. Probably has to do with the algorithm. But it has saved me a lot if time compared to the one at a time scanner I had before. And it does a much better job. Better resolution and better color.

Q: 3. It looks like this scanner scans 4 35mm slides at a time. What are the image dimensions of each individual slide after the scan?

A: The resolution can be selected as well as the film type before you actually scan the slide, with the largest resolution being 6400 x 9600 dpi.

Q: 4. Is it possible to install the software on a computer without a CD-ROM drive (i.e. the latest version of iMac and Macbooks)?

A: Yes, actually nearly all software for recent-vintage peripherals is available from manufacturers' download sites. So you DO need internet access for a download, but a CD-ROM drive is not necessary. You can also download users' manuals. Go to Epsonn's website. I tried to include the URL, but B&H prevented me from providing it.

Q: 5. Will it scan APS film negatives if they are removed from the cannister?

A: This scanner can scan APS film, but would not have a dedicated holder for it.

Q: 6. The scanner itself is very good, the SilverFast 8 SE Plus software is the worst I have ever seen. I cannot scan anything except prints, the software will not go to the proper items ( negative & slide) at all. I have loaded this to my iMac 3 times so far w/o any luck. I got more out of YouTube than the software manual. Anybody else have this problem?

A: I gave up on SilverFast (although I only was using it for prints) and use the included Epson software now. I did have some luck after updating the SilverFast software to the latest version, so be sure you've done that.

Q: 7. hoe fast can it scan 8x10 at 300 dpi?

A: The time may vary depending on your computer and various settings in the software but I timed 31sec for a color photo 8x10 scan at 300dpi with no features turned such as no unsharp mask, no dust correction and no descreening.

Q: 8. Does this scanner allow for scanning to a flash drive/thumb drive? If not, do you have any recommendations for a product like this one that can scan to a flash drive (resolution is more important than product name). Thanks!

A: You are not able to scan directly to a flash drive on the V600. You can only save the file directly on to the computer. We do not carry any flatbed scanners that have the ability to scan directly to a USB flash drive.

Q: 9. Does this product scan negatives to a .TIFF file or strictly .jpg?

A: Yes, it scans to .tiff, jpeg and several other formats.

Q: 10. If I scan a 4 x 6 print will I need to crop it after or can I set the scanner somehow that it knows the size and will do the crop for me?

A: In a word: yes. 1. Open the Epson Scan software that comes with the machine. 2. Load your original in the scanner. 3. Click PREVIEW. 4. In the window that displays the preview use your mouse to select the area you want to scan. The process is similar to that for cropping in Photoshop. 5. Click scan and select image type, place to store scan etc. 6. Click OK to start scan.

I have been doing Professional Photography for over 45 years and using Epson Printers and Papers for a long time also. I find that the Epson Fiber Papers works fine for the work that I do and has a classic look that my clients appreciate. And I appreciate the help that B&H has given me over the years as I purchased all kinds of photographic products to run my Photography Business. Thank you.

This is my favorite paper. The color reproduction is beautiful. The weight of the paper makes it lay very flat, great for mounting. The surface reminds of the old black and white glossy paper we would dry without glossing. If you like Epson's luster, you will love Exhibition Fiber.

very high quality. The larger size is useful for stiff posterboard-like uses. Excellent for any use; I use ultra premium luster for most of my photo printing.

I used this to create an exhibit of my best Paris street photography--shot on film, scanned and printed on the Epson 9890. ' couldn't be happier with the results; feels just like the best double-weight, fiber-based paper I ever used in the darkroom (I've been processing & printing my own work since 1972.). Bright whites, deepest blacks; photographs that almost glow. This is my second roll, and I look forward to adding several prints to my exhibit before school starts again in January. Not really a complaint: getting the finished print flat is a challenge--I suppose inevitable with paper this thick from a roll. Again, VERY like fine double-weight traditional printing paper! Epson, don't stop making this stuff!

Not interested in a glossy finish that reflects light excessively, this is the paper for you. Excellent weight and a very nice textured semi-gloss finish

If date back to darkroom days, you may recall that there was a paper that had a gloss surface that, if allowed to dry naturally would provide an attractive semi-gloss surface for many types of prints. Exhibition Fiber does a great job mimicking that paper, has a wide color gamut (at least while printing on any of the Epson x900 printers) and produces gorgeous black and white prints if the tones are in the digital file. It also has a hefty thickness that feels great in the hand.

This is the paper I prefer for my 13x19 monochrome images. I love how it renders the tones, especially the deep blacks. I also like the substantial weight of the paper. There are only two drawbacks...1) it is expensive, and 2)the surface of the paper will sometimes chip and I'll need to reprint the image. I am willing to put up with those two disadvantages for the quality of the product, though.
