The Countryman E6i Cardioid Microphone is a miniature ear-set microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The cardioid version effectively minimizes off-axis feedback and noise from nearby monitor speakers, instruments and noisy sources. Flexible microphone positioning is maintained and the included windscreen minimizes the wind noise often associated with cardioid microphones.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is beige and features a 4-pin LEMO connector for use with Telex wireless transmitters.

A miniature cardioid capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters. The Duramax 2mm diameter cable provides extra strength, flexibility and durability.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing off-axis residual noise from e nearby monitor speakers, instruments and loud sources. The result is increased signal-to-noise ratio and minimal feedback. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning. The E6i is also available in an omnidirectional version for maximum control over wind noise and plosives (popping).

This E6i's sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this compatible with the Nikon D3S?

A: Yes it is!

Q: 2. Is the new Nikon WR-R11b/WR-T10 Remote Controller Set compatible with the D850. If so how is it different than the the WR-10 remote controller set?

A: Yes, you have to chose the one that has the 10 pin connector. This set has more range and is also compatible with the newer cameras.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with a D800?

A: Yes. Via 10 pin connection terminal. Designed and made for the following units. Nikon D3 Nikon D300 Nikon D300S Nikon D3S Nikon D3x Nikon D4 Nikon D4s Nikon D5 Nikon D500 Nikon D6 Nikon D700 Nikon D800 Nikon D800E Nikon D810 Nikon D810A Nikon D850 Nikon Z9

Q: 4. I plan on using this with my D850 and Tamron 15-30 and 24-70. Will it fit well with those combinations and work correctly?

A: Nikon WR-R11a/WR-T10 Remote Controller Set will work with Nikon D850, the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens for Nikon F, and Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens.

Q: 5. Minor point but is there a way to attach the remote to a lanyard or something I know I will misplace the thing the first time I use it

A: Yes, a lanyard comes the WR-R11a/WR-T10 Remote Controller Set.

Q: 6. I'm guessing this doesn't fit Flashpoint 600.? Doesn't really indicate if it's compatible or not.

A: The defectors are inserted into the umbrella holder. For non Elinchrom lights you have to experiment to see if they can be made to line up. In most cases they will not.

Q: 7. Will these work on the D-lite RX4 head (with the Portalite Softbox) ?

A: Hi David,They will certainly work, I have them myself and use them. Will work also on other softboxes you might buy from Elinchrom.Benoit

Q: 8. Will this work with a D750?

A: Yes it will!

Q: 9. RE: WR-R11b receiver. Is there an indicator light that confirms the unit was activated?

A: Yes, the WR-R11b has two LED indicator lights that signify an established connection as well as triggering. The top LED flashes red during triggering and/or AF activation and the bottom light flashes a longer green pulse when a photograph is fired (as opposed to a continuous short green pulse every few seconds that signifies the unit is connected to the WR-T10).

Q: 10. Is there a cheaper work around 3rd party wireless remote trigger that does NOT occupy the hot shoe? Going from a sub-$20 remote (ML-L3) to a sub-$300 set is a hard pill to swallow....for essentially the same functionality.

A: As an alternative to this product, see others such as the Vello Shutterboss III or the Vello Freewave Plus. They use a cable to relay communication, and the hot shoe is simply the most convenient place to place the receiver. They do not need the hot shoe to function. You could leave it hanging via the cable if you really needed to, but that would be a little risky. Shutterboss III (Nikon): https://bhpho.to/37WbxdA Freewave Plus (Nikon): https://bhpho.to/2NGxzdw
