Q: 1. Is this a good device for recording Live karaoke with it's built in Mics. Is it too Much of a device or too little? I am new to these devices and want to truly hear how I sound while singing. Not while I am singing. and hearing my self in my head

A: This recorder is a great choice for capturing either the live performance in the room with the built-in mics, or for connecting the inputs on the bottom to a mixer or speaker output for a direct recording.

Q: 2. So I am looking into buying my audio equipment and I am confused on what I should buy. Should I get the Zoom H5, Rode VideoMic Pro or should I buy an audio kit with boom pole? Or should I buy all three?

A: Dear Bryce. The zoom H5 is a recording device, or capture device. It's like a tape recorder, a nagra from the old days, except its digital. It has two little microphones on it which can come off. It has xlr inputs and 1/4 inch inputs for mics. On other words, you can attach anything to this device, like wireless receivers that take a signal from a Mic which you place on an actor, or, you could take a wireless signal from a Mic on the end of a boom pole. You can also run cable to the Mic and plug in directly to this device. So, for movie making this allows the sound person to be independent from the camera. All you need to do to make it easy to sync up later is use sticks at the beginning of a take, or the end. Do you follow me?.?.? Good.

Q: 3. Is there a similar one for the AD600pro?

A: This is the Godox case for the AD600Pro. https://bhpho.to/2sFZfEi

Q: 4. re multi track mode, does it make 3 seperate files (L/R, L1, L2), or is it all mixed onto a stereo file?

A: In multi file mode, the files are stored in separate files. And there is also a stereo file mode which you can combine all track in one file.

Q: 5. I have a external power bank with only 2A USB outputs. Would I need a 1A output for the Zoom H5 or will it be ok with the 2A?

A: Given your context, a 2 amp USB output versus a 1 amp is nothing to be too worried about. The area of concern is the voltage output. 5v is the max recommended by Zoom.

Q: 6. Can I use only one XLR input and still get a stereo track? Or do you need to use both to get stereo?

A: Absolutely. Also make sure to choose the proper settings in the menu while setting up each time you record. The manual is very straight forward.

Q: 7. How well does this unit handle very loud low end frequencies aka lots of bass? I have an event that needs to be recorded at highest quality on a budget. Or any suggestions which field recorder would do the highest quality job for the lowest price? Thanks!

A: I cannot speak to the frequency response of the built in mics. I have mainly used the unit with external mics and also have yet to do any music recording. The dialog that I have recorded is exceptionally clear and full frequency. (as full as the spoken word becomes)

Q: 8. What are the interior dimensions? Pictures of the case open?

A: This case is designed specifically for the AD400Pro head its dimensions are not specified.

Q: 9. Phantom

A: Yes, the unit does have Phantom Power.

Q: 10. Can Zoom H5 use a mono mic and convert to stereo automatically, if both channels will be used as same, left and right?

A: The signal will not be converted to stereo but to two channel mono.
