Replicating the appearance and feel of a traditional F-surface darkroom paper, Epson Exhibition Fiber Paper aims to provide users with a beautiful soft gloss finish for their digital prints. A fiber base offers a professional feel with a weight of 325 gsm and thickness of 13 mil, making it an excellent choice for galleries and exhibitions. Also, by utilizing some optical brightening agents the paper is able to reach a whiteness of 147% and a brightness of 111%. This makes it possible to create prints with deep blacks and subtle tonal gradations, suitable for advanced black-and-white printing as well as long-lasting color prints. Additionally, this paper is instant drying.

This paper is available here as a 25-pack of 13 x 19" sheets.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How can I use the Silverfast Software since it's only on a disk?

A: You can download it here. https://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html?filter=form&sub=quick&topic=bundle

Q: 2. Can the v850 scan multiple photos at once and save them out into different files? If so, how? I have this and thought it could do it, but I'm not sure how. THANK YOU!!! :)

A: This is software specific: Using Epson Scan you can do more than one image at a time BUT you only have one level of control. That is, if one photo has a yellow colorcast and a different photo has a green color cast, you can only correct for one or the other. With SilverFast you can customize for each image. In fact you have to: setting the controls for one frame ONLY set the controls for that one frame. If you want one frame set to 1:1 and the next frame set to 1:2, you have set that. But you can. The colorcast I mentioned in the previous paragraph can easily be done with Silverfast but you do have to do that individually. Same as if you want one image grayscale and the next image color. Gotta set it and you can.

Q: 3. Can I scan panorama negatives taken with my Widelux 35mm panorama camera? Each panorama negative frame is 1.5x wider than a standard 35mm negative frame. I'm concerned that the V600 is preset to only read a standard sized negative, which is a problem I have with my Nikon Cool Scan.

A: Not sure if they make a 35mm panorama holder. But scanner has a 3 1/4 x 10 area for negatives. Have had no problem with placing odd size negatives in this area with out a holder.

Q: 4. Does the V850 get more information out of a scan than a DSLR 24MP or better camera film scan?

A: The lighting using the Epson Perfection V850 Pro Scanner will be more consistent, and offers excellent software to fine tune the scan for negatives or transparencies.

Q: 5. What are the filter threads for this lens? If there are any?

A: The Fujinon Premista 19-45mm T2.9 Large-Format Cine Lens (PL) does not have filter threads. The front of the lens is designed to work with 114mm Mattebox solutions. Example Matte Box https://bhpho.to/3upODYc

Q: 6. Can I use the V850 to scan 8x10 transparencies and negatives?

A: Yes the V850 can scan 8x10 transparencies and negatives.

Q: 7. what is the biggest print size I can get out of this scanner with a 35mm film neg?

A: I am going to assume you are concerned with the quality of the image as you try to make it larger. The scanner will allow you to scan the film negative at its original size (35mm). The quality of the image when it is processed and enlarged with photo editing software will be dependent on the quality of the original negative and the resolution that you use to scan the negative. The scanner's (Epson Scan) software allows you select very high resolutions to help with this issue. If you are not familiar with image resolution and how to process images for good print quality, I suggest you study some resources on the topic to gain a better understanding of how this works. This scanner is a good quality desktop scanner and is capable of producing very good scans. Certainly good enough for most photo reproduction projects. The maximum size of the image is really just limited by the photo printer, not the scanner.

Q: 8. is the epsonv850 a stand alone scanner?

A: The Epson Perfection V850 Pro Scanner does need to be connected to a computer.

Q: 9. Im reading a lot of bad reviews on the film holders. Can anyone suggest better film holders for 6x7 film?

A: There are YouTube videos for scanning directly on the glass without holders. It takes some initial cost for materials but is a much better approach.

Q: 10. Is the V850 connectivity compatible with the Windows 10 system?

A: Yes, I have had no problems with Windows 10 and this scanner.

This paper is great for prints that feel like fiber black and white prints but are digital color. Does not bend like other papers and just the perfect pearl finish.

This is a thick paper with a solid feel and nice texture -- much better than Lustre. Without a doubt it is Epson's finest paper ever manufactured. I viewed several prints made with an Epson 9900 and this paper that were beyond description. They were that great! The sharp tones and brilliant colors are terrific. As for this paper being similar to that of papers used by wet darkroom owners, I highly disagree on this point. I had a darkroom for many years. Exhibition Fiber Paper is absolutely nothing at all like the papers I used in that environment. This is not a shortcoming. It is just an observation. Exhibition Fiber Paper is a marvelous product on its own basis.

This is a very nice paper. I have only used it with an Epson 3800 in black & white, but it produces very satisfying black & white prints. It has no distracting texture, and has a nice weight. Harmon Gloss FB seems to have more gloss but the surface is very easy to scratch. There is no bronzing and it has very deep blacks.
