The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is beige and features a Screw-on TA4-Female connector for Beyerdynamic/Mipro transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included 2mm Diameter Duramax Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters. The Duramax 2mm diameter cable provides extra strength, flexibility and durability.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it work with Zoom H1/H4n? Rode needs 3 volts. According to the site Zoom plug-In power for condenser microphones is 2.5 volts.

A: The Rode VideoMicro is designed for use with DSLR and other similar cameras that are able to provide the proper voltage required by the mic. The Zoom H1 at 2.5VDC max output is not likely to function with the VideoMicro and would not be recommended. The H4N is able to supply higher plug in power voltage, however has not been tested with this mic, and would be unable to confirm operation with the VideoMicro. In general battery powered microphones are recommended for use with portable recorders.

Q: 2. Is this better than build in mic in RX 10 IV?

A: Yes

Q: 3. Which is better for recording music covers videomicro or videomic go ?

A: For that type of application I rely on dual recording system. Attach your favourite audio recorder to the sound console the instruments are plugged into. Then sync them in post.If you only want reference ambient audio, this mic will do just fine.

Q: 4. Will the Rode VideoMicro Ultracompact Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone work with the FujiFilm x100v?

A: The Fujifilm X100V will work with any battery powered microphone. I am not seeing anything in the Fujifilm X100V manual, nor any forums on the X100V that confirm if it is compatible with microphones that require mic plugin power like the Rode Videomicro.

Q: 5. Will it work with the Canon XA10 and similar cameras with the external XLR audio inputs?

A: The VideoMicro is not compatible with the XA-10 camera. The VideoMicro is not able to be adapted to XLR. It requires plug-in power which can only be provided by an 1/8 mic connection.

Q: 6. Sony a7siii compatible?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-B1M Camera-Mount Digital Shotgun Microphone for Sony Cameras is compatible with the Multi Interface Shoe connection on the Sony A7SIII.

Q: 7. I know that on a7iii the B1M mic will only be analog. what is the differance between analog and digital sound? analog is worse?

A: When the Sony B1M is used in analog mode, the audio signal must undergo more conversion steps, which is not likely to produce an audible difference in quality but is technically less efficient. In addition, adding an analog audio cable between the microphone and camera may introduce noise to the signal.

Q: 8. can it be used with the tascam dr-40?

A: I haven't found a way to do that, however if you prove me wrong please let me know

Q: 9. Is mic compatible with Fuji x100v? If "yes", what kind of cable do I need to purchase?

A: Yes, the Movo Photo VXR10 is compatible for use with a Fuji X100V camera. You can use a cable with 3.5mm TRS and 2.5mm TRS end such as the Beachtek SC25 3.5mm to 2.5mm TRS Output Cable (B&H #BESC25) to connect the mic to the camera's 2.5mm input.

Q: 10. Will the plugin power functionality still work if I use a cord extension?

A: Yes! I use an extension over 12 ft long and it still works pretty good with my Canon 60D.
