The cocoa B3 Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic, Low Sens, with Pigtail Leads Connector for Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a water-resistant, miniature lavalier microphone for capturing high-quality audio. It can be used in a variety of applications such as a tie-clip lavalier in interviews, a hair-hidden mic for drama, a water-resistant mic for water sports and hurricane reporting, or simply a small mic to hide in a prop flower vase.

The capsule is resistant to moisture, which allows for placement in the hair or on bare skin, and its omnidirectional polar pattern minimizes handling noise, wind noise, and plosives (popping). Furthermore, a variety of skin-matching colors are available. The B3's cable terminates to a pigtail that is stripped and tinned (unterminated) with a two-wire connector for use with wireless bodypack transmitters. Additionally, a carrying case, two cable clips, a windscreen, and three protective caps are also included.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B3 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B3 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B3 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 150 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B3 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Low, head miking for theater.

Q: 1. Has anyone used this for long exposure work, say 5-8 minutes? I am concerned that this bulky coiled cable would cause serious vibration on even the slightest of wind or breeze. It takes very little vibration to ruin an image as you well know. I'm really not sure as to why this cable is so long to begin with.

A: The longest exposure I have used this product for is about 1 minute while taking shots of the night sky. The coiled cable that I have did not move around at all during the slight breeze it endured and my images were sharp. It seems the weight or bulkiness of the cable prevents movement during a slight breeze. I used the wireless remote so the cable was attached to the camera via the hot shoe attachment. Using this configuration, there is enough coil in the cable so that you can wrap it around part of your tripod or camera to avoid any unnecessary movement of the cable. You have two connection options. Connect the cable from your camera directly to the hand held trigger (and this is why the cable is so long) or connect the cable from your camera to the hot shoe attachment so that you may use your tirgger wirelessly/remotely. I hope this helps.

Q: 2. Does this work with the sony a6300?

A: Yes this will work on your Sony A6300.

Q: 3. Can the Vello ShutterBoss II also trip the record button/function for making videos? I use a Nikon D750 camera.

A: Yes. The D750 has the ability to assign the shutter button to start/stop video recording. The instructions to do so are found on page 373 of the Nikon D750 user's manual: https://bhpho.to/3gyrFH5 Once the shutter button is the start/stop button for video, this remote, which activates the shutter button, can start and stop the video.

Q: 4. Please confirm that this product is compatible with my Canon EOS 60D. Would you recommend a different product for easier use or greater reliability? Canon? I am relatively new to night photography and interested in taking some long exposure shots along the Las Vegas strip with my tripod.THANKS!!

A: The Shutterboss Version II Timer Remote Switch for Canon with Sub Mini Connection from Vello is an excellent product and I highly recommend it for your needs. There isn't anything easier or more reliable to use.

Q: 5. Does this work with the original Vello Shutterboss Transmitter? They are both in 2.4GHz so the question is if Vello has been consistent from version to version with which frequency in the band each channel represents. Has anyone tried using an original Shutterboss transmitter with the Shutterboss II receiver?

A: The new receiver is completely compatible with the original transmitter. I have used the old transmitter simultaneously with both the old and new receivers with my Nikon bodies.

Q: 6. will it work on Nikon D3400?

A: I'm sorry, I am unable to answer this question. I own Sony equipment and have not had a chance to try it on the Sony yet

Q: 7. Which intervalometers works for Canon 6D Mark II

Q: 8. Will this work with Rebel SL2 ?

A: The impression you get is that Vello has distinctly different models for different cameras, but it appears that the only difference is the cable that connects to the camera. As long as your camera has an input for a remote shutter, and you pick the right cable, you should be good. I ordered one for my 80d, but I see that I can order a cable for my 7d and should be good for both.

Q: 9. can a softbox be attached to this product? if so, which one please.

A: A compatible softbox for this speed ring is the Photoflex Large LiteDome (34 x 45 x 24.5"), B&H # PHLDLQ. https://bhpho.to/2nemra3

Q: 10. Is this compatible with nonSony lenses on the A7II?

A: I use this product regularly with my A7II with no problems.Since it plugs into the side of the camera, there really shouldn't be a problem. If you are using a lens adapter you'll need to shoot manually using peak focusing.
