Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the camera come with an instruction manual?

A: It does not include a full manual.

Q: 2. Is this a true full negative image or cropped with a mask to look panoramic ?

A: Holga 120 Pan Panoramic Medium Format Camera uses 120 film and there is no separation between frames so the mask will create the separation. Since the mask is 6x12 it will create a very panoramic photo.

Q: 3. Because of the glass lens, do the images made with this camera look significantly different from the 120N with the plastic lens?

A: Yes. The glass lens in the Holga 120GCFN Medium Format Film Camera does improve the image quality slightly versus the lower cost plastic lens 120N camera.

Q: 4. What is so special about the rubberized version?

A: The rubberized black version is simply cosmetic; this will operate the same as any Holga camera.

Q: 5. What type of battery does it contain?

A: No batteries needed. Its a manual camera.

Q: 6. What is the default frame size? 6 x 4.5cm? I lost the insert and don't remember what the size is without the insert.

A: It Includes 6 x 4.5cm and 6 x 6cm Masks

Q: 7. Will any flash work on this camera (Vintage/Modern)? I want to use modern speedlites on this camera, will it work?

A: Yes Holga 120 Pan Panoramic Medium Format Camera is compatible with modern speedlites in manual exposure mode only.

Q: 8. Is there a pinhole option?

A: No.

Q: 9. But is there really a different aperture for the cloudy and sunny setting? for years they have had this switch, but there was no stop-down when you flipped the switch, no matter what the instruction manual said or what the specs claimed. If this version changed that, it would be great to know for sure! I'd order one right now if that was confirmed. Thanks!

A: Yes the lens stops down from f8 (cloudy) to f11 sunny.

Q: 10. How many entries per roll does this book have? I have ordered these two separate times, and one set of books has 14/15 entries per roll, and the other set has 8 entries per roll. I'm shooing 120 film on an RB67, so 8 per roll is too few unless I'm shooting 6x8, and 14/15 is too many but at least it covers 10 shots in 6x7.

A: The following page notebook contains 15 rolls worth of templates.

I had been searching for a good way to organize notes on camera settings as I test some film cameras that I'm trying to rehabilitate, and this is perfect. Plenty of room for everything I need, but concise with no wasted space. And it fits perfectly in my back pocket. Love this thing.

These books are the best thing for taking exposure notes in the field. Pocket-sized, takes ink or pencil, every field you need, and even has a handy gray card on the back for when you need it. I keep these stored with my negatives after. I used to print my own or use non-photo specific note books. Not anymore!

I have a Pentax 645 NII and a Pentax 67. These notebooks are perfect for recording the settings for all my exposures. The return to film photography has been a great experience and the notebooks make my understanding of all my exposures much easier. A great reference for future photo sessions.

After trying multiple apps to keep track of my film shots, I discovered that nothing really rounds out the analog experience like pen to paper. Handles fountain pen in pretty well. You'll see a tiny bit of ghosting on the backs of some pages but nothing really bleeds through.

This is a useful, pocket-sized notebook specifically designed for medium format film. It is a great way to keep track of your shots and has really helped me improve quickly because I can see what I did and tweak each succeeding shot. There aren't many options on the market and in my mind this is the best one available.

As a film photographer, taking meticulous notes of what I create photographs of and the camera settings and lens type and filters is of great importance to me. This notebook is a powerful tool to help me maintain organised notes, and I am so happy to be using it.
