The SureFire MOLLE Mounting Clip Z71 is designed for SureFire's HL1 series of helmet lights. This clip utilizes two columns of PALS webbing to effect a secure mount to most modern battlefield gear. The robust construction of the Z71 takes up most of the slack in the webbing; this nearly eliminates sag, and ensures that your light points where you need it to. The mounting plate of the Z71 offers five preset mounting positions, each with its own detent to keep the light in place.

The Z71 slips onto your PALS webbing easily, and its cleverly designed feet keep it securely in place. An integral quick release tab facilitates an intuitive attachment or removal of the Helmet Light HL1.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit on the Think Tank Streetwalker V2 backpack?

A: Yes, the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip v3 (Black) would be compatible for use on the Think Tank Photo StreetWalker V2.0 Backpack (Black). If you click on the image of the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip v3 (Black) on our website, then click the "Videos" tab, the second listed video is titled "Capture V3: Tips & Instructions." Time stamp 2:45 on the video shows how to install the unit on a backpack strap, and time stamp 4:37 shows how to install the unit on thicker straps.

Q: 2. Will the plate from this work for the Peak Design Clutch Strap? Or vice versa -- will the plate from the clutch strap work with this?

A: I would recommend using the Capture Clip in the camera as it has the opening in the side to thread the anchor and then you can attach the anchor onto the Peak Design Clutch.

Q: 3. Does this system allow for attaching the HoldFast Moneymaker bolt to the camera plate?

A: Unfortunately, there is no way to attach the HoldFast bolt to the Peak Design low-profile plate, or to use it with the Peak Design Capture Clip v3. The Capture Clip's proprietary design does not allow for many third-party accessories to integrate well with its mechanism.

Q: 4. How does this compare to the Spider holster? I've owned the spider for around 10 years and have liked them.

A: Both the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip v3 (Silver) and the Spider Camera Holster Spider X Camera Holster Backpacker Kit would be good options for a camera holder that can attach to the strap of a backpack or camera bag. While the usage of the two would be nearly identical, the main difference is the Peak Design option will hold the camera facing directly down against the camera strap, whereas the Spider option has a ball on the base of the camera's tripod socket and will allow the camera to hang in a various positions, though it usually will lay with the lens across your chest..

Q: 5. Do the hex-headed studs come with this clip-only version?

A: They do. Comes with both the thumb screws and the hex heads to replace the thumb screws if desired.

Q: 6. Does the plate ever loosen when attached to the Capture Clip? It doesn't allow the camera to rotate (like the Spider), correct? Won't that loosen the plate if I'm moving around...like at all?

A: When the camera is engaged in the Capture Clip securely, via the Standard/Dual Plate there will be no concerns with the camera dropping or releasing. You just need to ensure that when engaging that you hear the click. Also, we suggest tightening the tripod screw in before heavy use which will remove the possibility of lateral movement loosening the screw over time.

Q: 7. Does the v3 clip works on Lowpro photosport back pack? Do we need to get a PD Propad?

A: The Peak Design Capture Clip V3 will not directly fit on the Lowepro Photosport backpack's strap due to its width (tested on the BP 25L AWIII). HOWEVER, there is a particular attachment point (seen in this photo: https://bit.ly/3Hd2V1F) half-way down the shoulder strap (on both sides you'll see a black horizontal strap that says Lowepro; on the right side it says Lowepro). That is a very secure point you may attach the capture clip to vertically that can support your camera and the clip. Or you may get the PD Pro Pad.

Q: 8. How if im using laowa 25mm is there any chance to use this?

A: Unfortunately it won't work because the Venus Optics Laowa 25mm doesn't accept regular filters in the front.

Q: 9. Can anyone confirm whether the old micro plate is compatible with this?

A: Yes it will be compatible.

Q: 10. Can you use the Clip V3 with an arca L-bracket (RRS) and a heavier DSLR camera? (D850?) without changing plates?

A: You can, see here: a href= https://support.peakdesign.com/hc/en-us/articles/201292143-Using-Capture-with-an-L-bracket target= _blank https://support.peakdesign.com/hc/en-us/articles/201292143-Using-Capture-with-an-L-bracket/a

Hiked 20 miles recently and my Canon 6D was safety fixed to my shoulder strap while being easily assessable for a quick pic. I’d recommend this mount for any photographer wanting to bring along their camera on the high-adventure trip.

I specifically got this for a Peak Design Everyday Sling 5L whenever I dont want to use (the easy to remove Peak Design) sling strap. Securing the clip on my slingbag with the thumb screws where it stayed without loosening is easy, just make sure to properly tight them. I carry my Fuji X-T3 and XF 16-55mm f/2.8 lens combination and it was very comfortable. I was able to blindly and fast get the camera in and out of the clip.

I tried to attach it my Think Tank Photo messenger bag side strap and it was not very suitable then. Be mindful that it may not work with all applications. However, it is a good product and well thought out.

After seeing hundreds of reviews on this capture clip, I decided to finally pull the trigger. By adding this to my backpack, it has made carrying around my camera so much easier. I have it clipped to my Manfrotto Windsor backpack and fits very well. It was a little confusing how to get it clipped in the first place but after watching a few videos, I was able to figure it out. I went with the silver one because I just thought it looked sleeker than the black one, plus everyone has the black one. They're both slick and both are a great addition to any photographer's kit.

A great addition to my Peak Design gear. I typically hold my camera with a hand strap, avoid someone trying to rip it off me. The Capture Clip offers hands free, yet secures the camera in a manner that discourages theft.
