I have a Nikon D300 and was sent a cable for a Nikon D90 after being promised a new cable for my Nikon D300 and never receiving it and making new phone calls I then reordered cables that should have worked, but the one turned out not to fit the Vellow and the other turned out to be for a Cannon. I am disappointed that this is yet unresolved.

A: The main issue with having a tethered remote shutter is that any minute vibrations caused by the wire to camera connection. Also, if you just choose to hand the shutter remote, you will find that it will be banging against the tripod. Unless you buy a velcro attachment to have it secured to your tripod.
