The black Convi Clamp with Adjustable Handle and Hex Stud from Kupo has a load capacity of 44 lb and a ratcheted handle that allows you to reposition it for tightening and loosening in tight places. Made from lightweight aluminum alloy with stainless steel bolts, the clamp has jaws that open from 0.2 to 2" to grasp poles, pipe or other objects. A saddle (wedge) is included to create a flat surface for items like a desk, shelf or wood plank.

The Convi Clamp has a hexagonal receiver that accepts many Convi accessories such as the included anti-twist brass hex stud that allows mounting of lights, cameras or accessories.

A: The 2 side screws would be an M5 type thread.

A: both rotary moving tighteners (if that's what you mean by knobs ) are indeed metal. They are, as I read another response, built like a tankoutstanding product.

A: The little elliptical heads will detach from the rods by loosening the thumb screw. They work nicely with standard 15mm dslr rig rods, giving you all sorts of configuration possibilities.

Q: 4. What size hex wrench would be needed for tightening these studs? Note that I realize I can use an adjustable wrench, but being made of brass, I prefer to use a standard combination wrench to perform tightening.

A: it has 1/4 20 but I haven't had a good experience using it. The main feature is using the Hexagonal receiver which can accept various studs with 1/4 20, 3/8 -16, or 5/8 studs.

Favorite new clamp. Its grip is rock solid on various surfaces and the ratcheting handle makes this one stand out among its peers. The easy-to-grip black powder coated surface is also a nice feature when you're bouncing lights around and want to minimize unwanted reflections. Good stuff. 5

I love this thing. This tool allows me to rig up stuff way more easily. Opens a whole door of possibilities. I've been able to put a camera 10 feet up in the air with a c-stand with this for a music video. I've been able to rig up a microphone on my tripod to make a more compact rig and use one less light stand. 5

I used these in school, mainly in the studio. Attaches to the baby stud on various stands to hold backgrounds and light shapers. Very strong and versatile. On par with the Manfrotto Super-Clamp. They can be used alone on the top of a stand or two can be connected with a hex joining stud (keeps the clamps from rotating after joined) to have a super-strong double-clamp, settable at various angles to each other, capable of holding large dowels, rod stock (for holding theatrical draperies), large light shapers, studio props, etc.. These are very useful in giving you more mounting options with building a set. There is also a captive safety pin in the base to keep the clamp from coming off the stud should the thumbscrew become loose. 5

The product is a lot larger than what I thought it would be. However it does the job well. Superbly manufactured, it will probably never break or wear out. I purchased this grip head to hold a 7' parabolic umbrella. 5

The Kupo Convi Clamp is made with all heavy duty aluminum with no plastic parts except a rubber grip. It is superior to all of the plastic clamps. Highly recommend this product. 5
