Ilford 12 x12" Multigrade Printing Filters are used for printing the Ilford Multigrade range of papers on black-and-white enlargers.  Ilford produces complete sets of filters for all contrast grades in half grade steps.

The twelve multigrade filters are in sets and are numbered 00-5 in .5 steps. The lowest number corresponds to the softest contrast.

Multigrade filters are supplied in 3, 6 and 12" square sizes to fit most enlarger's filter drawers, or as a set of mounted hard plastic filters for below-lens use in a filter holder.

Multigrade filters do not require any recalculation of exposure times when changing between grades 0 and 3, grades 4 to 5 simply requiring twice the exposure.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is quality/reputation of Impact softboxes? I see Bowens Lumiair are double Impact? Is the Durability or make twice as good?

A: I own two Impact Luxbank Duo stripboxes and both are A quality. Far better than Buff, more robust than even Elinchrom. Note that these serve for both strobes & hot lights (read: cinema lights), so the material is thick and sturdy enough to withstand high heat. The only negative is the chintzy branding logo; however, other than that, a professionally built softbox that works fantastically well.

Q: 2. DP Review said this as a con: Can not select a portion of the screen for touchpad AF but also said this Touchpad AF lets you select a focus point on the rear screen while using the viewfinder ... What is the difference? Is this different from the G7 touch focusing?

A: The LCD screen on the back of the camera has a touchpad built into it so you can tap to focus right on the screen. It does not cover the entire screen, however, so a select portion of the screen is unavailable for that touch-focus option. It is similar to the G7 touch focusing, and most touch-screen focusing cameras, they usually don't cover 100% of the screen.

Q: 3. I just bought it but I am uncertain about the center column for the side stands. The instructions indicate to keep them low center of gravity, however the center pole is touching the floor when the legs are extended so if the floor is not fully flat it would not be stable... How are the legs suppose to work with these stands?

A: Sounds like you didnt fully extend the legs. I have two of these system and have not yet run into this issue. As a note about flat floors. These do not have leveling legs so an uneven surfaces are tough to work with

Q: 4. 32bit float/wide dynamic range?

A: No.

Q: 5. microphone input?

A: Yes, it does have a 3.5mm TRS stereo mini input.

Q: 6. Is this kit/bag appropriate to be checked at an airport?

A: It breaks down into its own bag that is small enough to go through.

Q: 7. considering this or a 4k Camcorder for use as an unmanned video camera mounted high on a tripod for weddings and seminars- assuming using branded battery with full charge, can anyone estimate recording time - using auto settings before the battery runs down? Thank you.

A: I have not done what you are suggesting. Dedicated video cameras tend to be better for these types of applications because they can often run of AC power and they do not have tendency to overheat.

Q: 8. Hi I would like to know if the width of the 12' bar across the two stands is adjustable?

A: The bar comes as four, 3 foot sections. The sections interlock together. The only way to adjust it is if you remove 1-2 of the sections. It can be setup as a 6, 9 and 12 foot bar. Hope this helps!

Q: 9. ¿Does this camera has focus stacking?

A: Thank you for reaching out! Kindly be informed that the DMC-G85 has a new Focus Stacking feature that helps easily select several focus points in the same image.

Q: 10. How is this camera in low light compared to the g7 or gh4? And is it just as good as the gh5?

A: I have a G7 and a G85 There are YouTube videos that seem to demonstrate that the G7 and G85 are much better in low light than the GH4, but it's hard to tell how accurate those tests are since the luminance levels in the G7 and G85 can only be set to 0255 and 16255, whereas the GH4 shoots at 16235. Meanwhile, the G85 uses a larger sensor area when recording video than the G7, which still uses a larger sensor area than the GH4. The bigger the sensor area is, the more the camera has to downscale, and the more the camera downscales, the finer the sensor noise becomes. All this is to say that the G85 will have the best low light performance that the difference probably isn't big enough to determine which camera you should buy. That said, the GH5 is pretty fantastic in low light compared to any of the previous generation of cameras. It uses the entire sensor to record video and downscales the image from 6K, and the GH5 has a new, larger sensor compared to any of these other cameras. If you have the money, the GH5 is a no-brainer.
