The tan B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Very Low Sensitivity, with Hardwired 2.5mm Stereo Connector for Samson Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a 2.5mm stereo connector for direct connection to a Samson Airline AL-1 wireless bodypack transmitter.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Very low, mic near user's mouth.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is the rode video mic pro compatible with the Sony px333 recorder?

A: Should work with no problem at all. Plug and play.

Q: 2. I know for the fact that this mic uses A9 battery. is there anyway I can get rechargeable A9 battery for my mic ?thanks

A: The Rode VideoMic Pro with Rycote Lyre shockmount uses a 9V battery for power. You may use a rechargeable 9V battery which are available for sale here: https://bhpho.to/2EMFXhr

Q: 3. Is it compatible with the Canon Vixia G40?

A: I use it with a Canon 70D and its great. If the G40 has a mic input I'd say yes.

Q: 4. I heard reports of people listening to clicks on recordings with Videomic Pro when shooting with smartphones. Why does this happen and how do I correct it?

A: Hello Marcelo, unfortunately, there are many reasons why this could be happening. Most of them don't have to do with any microphone manufacturer. The best solution would be to contact Rode directly to speak with someone over the phone to work out details.

Q: 5. can I connect with an ipad?

A: The Rode VideoMic Pro can be used with an iPad, this would require an additional adapter, the Rode SC4.

Q: 6. Will this work on a Panasonic Hc-wxf991, I love rode mics but have had one for a year now since I lost it but got a new camcorder and would love another rode mic but would you suggest this cause I know there's the small one and a big rode mic but not sure which, thanks

A: This microphone is compatible and recommended for the Panasonic HC-WXF991K camcorder.

Q: 7. Hi, I just bought this mic with the deadcat combo, when I fit the deadcat to mic there seems to be about 1/2 inch of space towards the front of the mic that doesn't touch the inside wind reduction sponge. is this normal? or did I get too long of a cat with my combo/kit?

A: You need to ease it on like a tight pair of socks. Slowly and gently.

Q: 8. Does anyone have a guess as to the width of the sound angle it can detect? For example, if you have a wide angle lens on your DSLR recording a group of 4-6 people, will the microphone pick up all of their voices, or does the camera need to be moved left and right to record each person's comments.

A: This mic is meant to be highly directional. For more than one person in the recording, the mic would need to be placed onto a boompole and moved to each person as they speak. If you wanted a wider pickup pattern, you could use the Ride Stereo Video Mic Pro: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1273119-REG/rode_stereo_videomic_pro_r_stereo_videomic_pro_rycote.html/specs. Please keep in mind that this will result in more background sound pick up too.

Q: 9. Would this mic work for recording church choir singing concerts? I'm using a Nikon D850. Or would a Rode stereo mic be better suited?

A: The Rode VideoMic Pro would work for recording a church choir, but a stereo mic like the Rode Stereo VideoMic On-Camera Microphone (B&H # ROSVM) could give you a more spacious sound.

Q: 10. We're considering one or two of these for use in videorecording theatrical performances. They would feed an external audio recorder (Zoom H6), and we also have a patch direct from the soundboard, for the wireless-mic'd performers. Right now we use a couple of Crown floor mics ( boundary mics ), and in some shows, the foot-thumping noise is pretty loud. Would a couple of the Rode Pro's, set near the front of the stage work for theatre in the way I'm describing?

A: A pair of these might work out for you pretty well. Mounting them on stands or small rubber- footed tripods would help isolate them an decouple them from the floor as well.
