The black E6i (TA4F) from Countryman is a miniature, omnidirectional, earset condenser microphone designed for accurate voice reproduction (speaking and singing) and near-invisible appearance in theater, concerts, lectures, houses or worship, and more. It features a water- and wind-resistant capsule that delivers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions and should be used when feedback is not common.

The 5’ detachable cable has a diameter of 1mm, and features a TA4F connector for compatibility with Vega transmitters. The E6i offers a flexible boom for versatile placement. The three protective caps yield different high-end frequency presence. The supplied windscreen protects the condenser element, and reduces plosives and wind noise. Cable clips and a carrying case are included.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear section. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin. For more information on which color earset suits you best, refer to the Countryman support page.

The included 1mm diameter cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture both speech and vocal performances without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will the audio better better or equal to the videomic go if I used this on a canon t6i?

A: Better Up close. But the videomic go has more reach. Turn your t6i pre-amp down to 25% or less. Or use a zoom h1

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the Sony FDR-AX100?

A: Yes. The Sony ECM-GZ1M Zoom Microphone for Cameras with Multi-Interface Shoe B&H # SOECMGZ1M is compatible with the Sony FDR-AX100 4K Ultra HD Camcorder BH #SOFDRAX100.

Q: 3. Is this compatible to Sony a6000?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-G1 Ultracompact Camera-Mount Vlogger Shotgun Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony a6000 Mirrorless Camera. The ECM-G1 offers cable-free and battery-free connection to Sony cameras via its Multi-Interface Shoe and also provides a wired analog 3.5mm TRS output for compatibility with cameras that do not include the MI Shoe.

Q: 4. What angle does this microphone pick up? Can it handle two people on a couch a few feet away from the mic?

A: The Movo Photo VXR10 PRO Shotgun Microphone picks up sound from the from the front in a supercardioid pattern, which is narrow and very focused. If the two subjects are sitting very close to each other, the mic should be able to capture audio from both people without any problems.

Q: 5. Is is compatible with Sony a6000?

A: Yes, I always use it with my a6000. It does not work in zoom mode though. Glad I could help.

Q: 6. Sennheiser MKH8060 fits with this? INV LITE 19, prefer to avoid it as concern for secure grip on mic and may be leaving a mark on mic. Didn't find much evidence on internet.

A: This mount if fine for your 8060, which is 19mm in diameter, and this is for mics 19-34mm in diameter. And yes, it will be more secure than the INV-19.

Q: 7. When using this mic, can you also use the 3.5mm mic jack input at the same time for a second source of audio (like with a rode wireless go plugged in there)??

A: If you are attaching the ECM-B1M to a camera with the Multi Interface Shoe, you would not be able to use the 3.5mm input at the same time. If you want to use two mics or an on-camera mic and wireless system or two wireless systems at the same time with a camera that has a single 3.5mm mic input, you can use a two-channel mixer that mounts on the camera. There are different types of mixers (active and passive) to accommodate mics that require power or mics that have their own power source. Beachtek's DXA-GO (B&H# BEDXAGO) is passive mixer with two 3.5mm inputs for mics and was designed for use with the Rode Wireless GO system. Comica Audio's CVM-AX3 Dual-Channel Audio Mixer (B&H# COCVMAX3) is an active (battery-powered) mixer that has two XLR-1/4" combo jacks and two 3.5mm inputs for a variety of mics and/or wireless systems which also has gain controls for each channel as well as additional features such as a dedicated headphone output. These are just two examples of the options available for setups that will allow you to use a combination of two mics. Q: 8. is this compatible with the a99?

A: This will not be compatible with the Sony A99.

Q: 9. Will this mic work with a dual hot shoe splitter on an a7riii? I want to use it alongside a small video light that has it's own power, so only one side has to be hot for the mic. And does the dual hot shoe need to be specifically for Sony cameras? Thanks for the help.

A: Unfortunately a multi-interface splitter does not exist as far as we have seen. In order to use a microphone along with a light, my best advice would be to select a different microphone that allows a cable to run into the microphone input on the camera. These are two possible microphones that would work in a similar price range. B&H # ROVIDEOMICRO and POSCL1075.

Q: 10. will it work on a d500 ?

A: The Rode VideoMicro is compatible with the Nikon D500.
