The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature ear-set microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is cocoa and is sold without the cable.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin. For more information on which color ear-set suits you best, refer to the Countryman support page.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are you able to utilize a manual focus option incase the slide is bent or damaged and the autofocus isn't working?

A: There is no manual focusing option on this scanner. The lens is fixed.

Q: 2. How does the batch feature work? Is it a mode that the machine is in to speed up the process?About how long would it take to do 20 Kodochrome or Ekachrome slides in the batch mode.

A: Plustek does not publish a scan time and the amount of time needed to scan a 35mm film frame will depend on the scan features you choose as they will affect the total time needed to scan a 35mm film frame. Back when I scanned my library of negatives, using multi sampling and Digital ICE, a single frame took about 5 minutes. The OpticFilm 120 uses an automatic motorized film transport system that speeds the scanning workow. You load 5 mounted slides into the holder and the scanner will scan each one chrome individually.

Q: 3. Is it compatible with Apple's new OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 operating system?

A: Plustek has not released updated drivers for OS X Mavericks at this time.

Q: 4. All of my 120 negatives are cut to fit 9 1/2 clear vu sheets, i.e. 4 negatives in 6x6 format. Will the 120 holder allow scanning without cutting or damaging the 2 1/4 x9 1/2 negative strip?

A: Maybe. The scanner will only scan up to 3 frames at a time and the holder is about 3/4 shorter than what is needed to accommodate your strip. The last portion will be curled. The good news is that when you are done with the first three you can turn the film 180 degrees and scan the last frame. The holder will hold the film flat enough to scan. I have not had it damage my film yet, but if the film is older (20 years or more) or brittle I would not attempt it without cutting the strip.

Q: 5. Anyone use this successfully with a V500? Also, how many 6x6 negatives can fit at once?

A: For a 120 negative the mask will hold 3 frames, and 2 masks will fit on an 8x10 flatbed scanner, but only a few will scan the full 8x10 area for film/transparencies. I have the epson 850, which allows the entire area to be scanned, so you can scan 6 frames at once, with 2 of these masks. It works well if you need to flatten out the negative

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the Epson V800 scanner.?

A: Yes this should be compatible with the Epson V800

Q: 7. Is this the only Plustek scanner that scans both 35mm and 120mm film ? Are 120mm film holders purchased separately ?

A: The 120mm film holders are included. The other model we have that scans both 35mm and 120mm is the Pacific Image PF120.

Q: 8. I noticed the D5500 is not listed for support, but the D5300 and D5600 model are. Will this still work with the D5500?

A: We believe the listing is inaccurate in that Gudsen has simply not been able to test that camera. It is our opinion that more than likely this cable will work fine. Do note, I do not see a note saying these cables can be returned.

Q: 9. How many 35mm slides and 35mm negatives will this batch scan?

A: You can scan 5 35mm slides and 2 strips of 6 35mm negatives.

Q: 10. How does this compare to the Epson V850? I looking for a scanner for 6X7 negatives.

A: The image quality is better than that of the Epson, but the scanner is less versatile if you have other requirements (reflective scans, large format etc). For 135 and MF, it is excellent.
