The black E6i (4-Pin Twist-Lock) from Countryman is a miniature, omnidirectional, earset condenser microphone designed for accurate voice reproduction (speaking and singing) and near-invisible appearance in theater, concerts, lectures, houses or worship, and more. It features a water- and wind-resistant capsule that delivers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions and should be used when feedback is not common.

The 5’ detachable cable has a diameter of 1mm, and features a 4-pin twist-lock connector for compatibility with specific* Sony transmitters. The E6i offers a flexible boom for versatile placement. The three protective caps yield different high-end frequency presence. The supplied windscreen protects the condenser element, and reduces plosives and wind noise. Cable clips and a carrying case are included.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear section. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin. For more information on which color earset suits you best, refer to the Countryman support page.

The included 1mm diameter cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture both speech and vocal performances without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I mount a 3 Legged Thing QR11-LC L bracket on this Ball head?

A: Unfortunately no, the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Travel Tripod with 494 Ball Head only accepts the RC2 plate.

Q: 2. Is the only difference with the Sony Alpha version the mounting plate? If I go with the apha version, can I purchase a second (non-alpha) plate for use with my second camera (a Canon)?

A: Yes, the only thing specifically Sony about this set up is the plate. You can interchange the plate for any Manfrotto 200pl style plate, such as B&H # MA200PL B&H # MA200PLPRO B&H # MA200PLARCH3 B&H # MA200PLARCH1

Q: 3. Can this tripod work with an L bracket? The QR plate doesn't appear to be an industry standard.

A: Yes. But will only adapt to 200PL-14 Type QR Plates. Plesae review the follwoing unit Manfrotto Q2 L Bracket BH #MAQ2LB • MFR #MS050M4-Q2 https://bhpho.to/3R1pbQs

Q: 4. Can we rotate centre column to 90 degrees.

A: The column on this tripod is not a 90 degree lateral arm.

Q: 5. I have a Manfrotto Befree Advanced Travel Aluminum Tripod with 494 Ball Head (Twist Locks, Red), does it work on Canon R5 body? Can I just use the 200PL RC2 type arca-Swiss plate or need to use something else, like RRS plate?

A: Success with the 494 ball head and the R5 will depend on the lens you're using. Heavier combinations, like the 100-500mm and 28-70mm f/2 might see limited success when the ball head is used in various positions. The 494 ball head does not accept arca-swiss style plates. However, the 200PLPro plate that comes with it is compatible with arca-swiss ball heads (it's weird, I know). The 494 will accept 200PL and 200PLPro plates, so it will work on an R5 without an RRS plate or L-bracket.

Q: 6. 360 Pan ??

A: The Pan and Tilt Range on this head is -90° to +40°. It is not 360 degrees.

Q: 7. Can it turns in a monopod?

A: I'm sorry, no, this tripod does not have the ability to turn into a monopod.

Q: 8. Is this tripod and ball head compatible with Arca-Swiss plates? And have you had any issues with the durability any of the PLASTIC parts?

A: Yes, this head is compatible with Arca Swiss plates.

Q: 9. Where is it manufactured in Italy or China?

A: This tripod is made in Italy.

Q: 10. Will this tripod work with the Really Right Stuff L-Plate Set for Select Sony Alpha a7 Series Cameras?

A: Unfortunately no, the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Travel Tripod with 494 Ball Head only accepts the RC2 plate.
