Ideal for portraiture, the 67mm 812 Warming Wide-Angle Filter from Tiffen is used to improve skin tones when working in cool lighting conditions. This filter offers a greater warming effect than a skylight 1-A filter and is well-suited for use outdoors on overcast days or on sunny days when working in open shade. It can also be used to absorb the strong blue cast of an electronic flash for more balanced, lifelike skin tones.

The filter is constructed using Tiffen's ColorCore technology, which involves lamenting the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, grounding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and mounting within an aluminum alloy ring. The Wide-Angle version of this filter has a thinner, low-profile design compared to the standard version and omits the front filter threads in order to lessen the likelihood of vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the thread size for filters?

A: 77mm

Q: 2. will this work on a7iii and is there any issues being an APS-C format? I believe the a7iii has a crop of 1.01. What does that mean when using this lens?

A: The Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 AF Compact Ultra Wide-Angle Lens for Sony E-Mount will work on the Sony Alpha a7 III, but it is not recommended. This is an APS-C lens and so will only be using the center part of your camera sensor. This sensor would not cover the Full Frame sensor of that camera. This lens would be used in APS-C crop mode with a 1.5 crop.

Q: 3. What is the lens length?

A: The Meike 8mm T2.9 Manual Focus Wide-Angle Cinema Lens (MFT Mount), is a special order item that we unfortunately do not have direct access to. The manufacturer does not state the actual size, but based on other Meike lenses which we can test, the packaging takes up about 2-3" in length and the packaging length is 6.3", which would put this lens at approximately 3.3-4.3" in length.

Q: 4. So if using this with the cannon RP there is no need for an adaptor? It mounts directly? Thanks. JB

A: Yes, The Rokinon 14mm T3.1 DSX lens has a Canon RF mount. The Canon RP camera also has a RF lens mount. You would not need an adapter to work with this lens on the Canon RP.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with a BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera?

A: If you are using the Blackmagic 4K Pocket Cinema Camera, then yes this lens is compatible. If you are using the Blackmagic 6K, then no, this will not be compatible.

Q: 6. Length of lens in mm or inches?

A: This lens is 3.9 inches long.

Q: 7. Will this fit a DJI Inspire RAW?

A: I have the X5, not the X5R. The7.5mm 3.5 lens fits (dimensions) but it is 45 grams heavier than any other lens I use. I have the 12mmOly, 15mm DJI, 25 mmOly, 45mm Oly and 14-42 Oly. They all work fine, but have different balancing requirements. At some point, people put too much on the gimbal. Sure, you can balance it, but the gimbal motors are working harder (my opinion). Then, when the gimbal chatters, or stops working, people blame the gimbal.

Q: 8. If using the lens on a camera in Manual focus mode, does the focus ring stop at infinity or does it keep going around and around?

A: As this lens uses fly-by-wire focusing, it will spin indefinitely and has no hard stops.

Q: 9. Does this lens have manual focus?

A: Yes, the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 AF Compact Ultra Wide-Angle Lens for Sony E-Mount allows Manual Focus.

Q: 10. The 12mm essentially converts to a 24mm on the BMDP 4K camera, is that correct? is there added distortion or vignetting?

A: The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has a 1.9x Crop Factor. A 12mm will be around a 23mm after the Crop Factor.
