The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.
The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.
The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.
A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is black and features a Screw-on TA4-Female connector for Sabine transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.
The included 1mm Diameter Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.
The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.
This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can the boompole pro stand on its own to hold the mic? Or do you have to have someone holding it?
A: The boompole by it self needs someone to hold it, however if you would like with the clamp and holder in the link bellow it can be placed onto to a light stand https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/469810-REG/General_Brand_Boompole_Holder_and_Grip.html
Q: 2. Will this mic work well when shooting video of marching bands at outdoor sporting events.
A: Just found a great video where the guy is reviewing the GoPro Hero 5 Black using this mic (via an adapter) -- you can hear the stark difference with between the on-camera mic vs. the Rode VideoMicro in various situations: https://youtu.be/hgqDGsCDkyc .
Q: 3. Will this work with a standard 1/8" jack on a computer for recording sounds (i.e. as an external computer mic)?
A: If your computer has a 3.5mm microphone input that will provide plug-in power, then yes it will work.
Q: 4. I have read in the reviews that the microphone hisses sometimes..? is there a way around this that anyone has found?
A: I haven't had any sound quality issues; not a pro set up, I'm using a Canon T3i, but I'm getting clear sound outdoors and indoors. Most recently in a large, open space with hardwood floors, put it on a boom above the subject and sounded great. I had hissing issues with a lavaliere microphone before but it was caused by using an AC adapter on the camera instead of internal battery - I haven't tested that yet with this microphone. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend this item.
Q: 5. will this work with Olympus E-M1 Mark III?
A: Yes, the Rode VideoMicro is compatible for use with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III. Since the camera has a 2.5mm TRS microphone input, use the Beachtek SC25 3.5mm to 2.5mm TRS Output Cable (B&H # BESC25) instead of the included 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable or you can use the original mic cable combined with the Hosa Technology GMP-467 Stereo Mini Female to Stereo Sub-Mini Male Right Angle Adapter (B&H # HOASMFRASMM).
Q: 6. Does the rode videomicro work with the fuji x100f?
A: I don't have that camera, but I'm sure it will ... I works with my canons well.
Q: 7. Will this work on a Rebel EOS T6?
A: No, the Canon Rebel EOS T6 does not have an input for an external microphone and only records audio using its built-in internal mic. You can use a separate recorder with an external microphone such as the Rode VideoMicro to record an audio track and then combine the separate audio with the video in post production.
Q: 8. will this work with sony a6600?
A: Yes. This wil work on any camera with a 3.5mm microphone input.
Q: 9. Will this mic be compatible with the soon to be released Sony a6300? I can't really tell from the website or specs if it will have a native multinterface shoe mount.
A: This mic will not work withe SONY A6300 camera. The camera will not provide the required plug-in power .
Q: 10. I'm not getting any signal from the headphone output. I'm using a standard 1/8th 3.5 mm headphone. Any suggestions?
A: Have you tried a different pair of headphones to see if that works? What do you have the microphone connected to?
