Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this also work on the Nikkor 500mm 5.6 PF?

A: Yes.

Q: 2. Will it be able to make the lens stands horizontally by itself?

A: Yes. It will stand horizontally both with a body and without.

Q: 3. does this replacement foot is balanced enough to make the lens stands horizontally?

A: Yes it does, with and without camera if you remove the two little screws on the bottom (security stoppers).

Q: 4. Is this compatible with the Nikon 200mm f2 VR II?

A: No, this is not compatible. Kirk does not make a lens foot for that lens currently. You can use the Really Right Stuff LCF-15 Foot for Nikon 200mm f/2G VR & VR II linked here. https://bhpho.to/3eha8Bn.

Q: 5. Dies it work with 70-200mm f2.8 GII ED?

A: The GII is an earlier model than the newer ED version of Nikons 70-200 2.8 VR. If you have the older model, this lens foot will not fit properly. RRS makes a lens foot specifically for the G version.

Q: 6. Does the RRS foot get the same height as the original foot from Sony? Will it fit into the Sony lens case if the RRS foot is mounted?

A: Yes. The RRS foot is almost exactly the same height as the original Sony foot. A very tiny bit taller. It's definitely longer. It still fits fine in the Sony lens case.

Q: 7. Does using the RRS Replacement Foot for Sony 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 still allow you to reverse and attach the lens hood for carrying and storage?

A: Yes, you may still use your lens hood and store your lens hood on your lens when using the Really Right Stuff LCF-101 Replacement Foot for Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS lenses.

Q: 8. I own the FE 100-400mm and the original foot now shows a looseness even when screwed in to the max. The Looseness is from front to back. Unless I am mistaken, orginally there was no looseness. I am wondering if the design of this replacement will address this issue and offer a perfect thightness? Thanks!

A: I can answer my own question... The problem was not with the removable foot as I thought, but with the fixed portion on the lens where the removable foot attaches. That silver metal piece is screwed in the body of the lens. The screws unscrewed themselves due to vibrations in the Jeep on an African safari. I have now used removable Blue Loctite to insure that it does not happen again. I wanted to share it so that others can do prevention in making sure it does not happen to them and inflict bigger damage.

Q: 9. Can you properly balance a Nikon 500mm PF attached to a RRS LCF-11 on a Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head?

A: Yes you can , they are ARCA compatible

Q: 10. What is the difference between this foot and the less expensive Kirk LP-63N?

A: This LP-63NSG has the new Super Grip on the top of it while the less expensive LP-63N lacks this option.
