Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is the Tamron 16-300mm f3.5-6.3 Dill VC PZD Macro lens be compatible with the Nikon D750?
A: Works for me (on my D750), I'm still in the should I, or should I not keep it phase.
Q: 2. What is the shutter count on this D750?
A: Please contact the Used department at B&H Photo for this information.
Q: 3. What's the warranty and return policy on this camera?
A: Nikon supplies their cameras with a Limited 1-Year USA Warranty. B&H has a 30 day return policy.
Q: 4. I hate alligators but when I need to shoot them and a boardwalk or raised platform is not available where should I be to get the shot?
A: Depending on the size of the alligator, with a long telephoto lens.
Q: 5. Nikon d750 recall fix?
A: Yes, the D750 recall has been taken care and our current stock is unaffected.
Q: 6. Will a 70-300 and a 150-600 Tamron AFS lens work with the D750?
A: Simple answer is yes. And the D750 is a great camera for the type of shooting you would do with lenses such as these. However I would suggest you look carefully at the technical ratings of these lenses and be certain they will meet your criteria. Neither are the sharpest of lenses and the camera deserves the best blasts you can afford. (I don't know if you have the camera and are considering the lenses or vice versa.) After using some less expensive lenses I have decided to take my time and collect only the best glass. So far I have not regretted this.
Q: 7. How is the live view experience on this? Does changing the shutter speed, aperture, etc. affect the preview on screen during live view?
A: No, it does not have real time exposure adjustment during live view.
Q: 8. What's the body frame made out of? I'm concerned that it may be all plastic like some of the more recent Nikon models. I love the magnesium alloy in my D300 and am hoping something similar was used for the D500, but can't find it in any of the specs published thus far.
A: The front of the D500 is carbon fiber / plastic, but that doesn't mean it's design is less strong than an all Mg body. Nikon wanted to include wireless and blue tooth, an all metal body would of prevented those features. Carbon fiber can be stronger than many alloys, and Nikon states they didn't compromise on ruggedness.
Q: 9. is the body and basic kit comes with a charger by default?
A: Yes. Body only means there is no lens included. All other essentials, battery, battery charger, et cet., are included.
Q: 10. I consider myself amateur photographer/hobbyist, and have only ever owned a Nikon D3300. My favorite subjects to shoot are nature/wildlife, landscapes, and people. Would the D500 be worth the upgrade?
A: Hi Ben, it looks like a lot of very good suggestions/options have been posted before my answer. So, to elaborate further I concur on getting better glass to go with whatever body you choose. (Always try to shoot with good glass) as for the d7100-d7200 choice, go with the d7200. I would not bother with the d7500 upgrade since you can save more money with the other choice i own the d7100 and it was a good camera when it released and still is but once i got the d500 i have not used. (d7200 has some better updates & low light abilities over the d7100) The d500 is an amazing camera and you will definitely be able to shoot with it for years and not out grow it! I shoot basically same subjects as you but alter between d810 FF for landscapes & portrait and d500 for wildlife/birds and dog images (phodography) but the d500 can do all subjects obviously as will the d7200 - if you can find a clean used d7200 at b&h that could be good to save $$. IF money is not a factor then go big w/d500 but only if that includes some good glass! I would recommend 200-500mm f5.6 or 300mm f/4 PF ED VR lens, the newest one which is incredible and small/lightweight or even the older version 300mm but bigger/heavier and no IS - you may find some decent prices on these lenses in the used dept as well. The d500 is a high speed, fast focusing/tracking/buffering,low light demon! The other cameras mentioned get the job done but not as quickly- the image quality from all 3 is excellent. Good luck with your choice & happy shooting!
