$387.00 $580.50

The edelkrone Pocket Rig 2 is a compact and portable DSLR base that folds out to provide a versatile support arm and 15mm rods. It attaches to the bottom of your DSLR or mirrorless camera via a 1/4"-20 thumbscrew and has a form similar to a battery grip when folded, so it won't interfere with photo taking and traditional handheld work. It can also be used with compact camcorders. When you need more stability for video recording, simply fold out the Pocket Rig's fully adjustable support arm that functions as a chest/shoulder brace. By using the belt groove on the support piece, you can also use your belt to support the weight of the rig for stable shots with less arm fatigue.

More than just a support arm, the Pocket Rig 2 also features 15mm rods that can fold out in a matter of seconds, allowing you to attach a follow focus, matte box, handles, or other 15mm rod accessories. The rods can extend up to 7". At the base of the rig is a 1/4"-20 threaded hole, allowing you to mount it directly onto a tripod or tripod plate and serve as a 15mm rod baseplate for your camera.

Related Questions and Answers

A: Yes, according to manufacturer specs, this product is designed for most current ZCam models.

Q: 2. Is there a DollyPlus Pro bundle with HeadPlus Pro and V-Mounts?

A: We do have B&H # ED82740B16VM which is a kit that has the DollyPlus Pro, HeadPlus Pro and V-Mount Battery Brackets.

Q: 3. what.s the difference between Pocke Rig 2 and Pocket Rig 3 ?

A: The Edelkrone PocketRIG v3 refines that original design, adds new features. The most notable addition is the half cage which features a new set of movable mounting points to attach accessories. you will be able to attach lights, microphones, monitors, and more anywhere on the cage.

Q: 4. I shoot mostly run and gun documentary work.. I'll use a tripod or slider for certain shots, but often have to pick the camera up in a hurry to catch something. How feasible would it be to have a quick release plate (small arca swiss plate) attached to the bottom of the Pocket Rig 2? Would it affect the designed ease of use or overall functionality? Would it still be solid to mount to a quick release receiver on tripod?

A: The Pocket Rig 2 has a 1/4 -20 tripod mounting thread underneath. You will be able to attach a quick release plate to the unit and I don't think it will hamper the operation, especially if it is a low profile QR Plate.

Q: 5. Is the dolly quiet enough to use in an interview (assuming 7-8 feet from subject)?

A: The answer may vary based on a few variables. First, The Dolly must move on the floor therefore the material on the floor will affect how much/little sound is produced. Second, The ambient noise will also play an impact. If you are using this in a sound treated room the sound from this dolly will have more of an impact then say an apartment in a NYC (its never truly quiet here). And Third, the microphones and or microphone placement. Depending on your microphones and more importantly your microphone placement you may pick up more of the Dolly's sound. If your goal is to add camera movement to interviews a Slider would be a better choice. Sliders are more consistent in terms of noise (since they move on their own tracks) and that makes it easier to compensate for the slider's operating noise with microphone placement.

Q: 6. Would this work well with a battery grip equipped camera such as a Canon T4i or 5D Mark IV?

A: While it would work with both cameras it would not be able to work with the cameras battery grip unless you remove the handle of the edelkrone Pocket Rig 3.

Q: 7. Does this rig work with BMPCC 4K?

A: The following unity is ideally made for compact, Portable DSLR Rig. But will work with the BMPCC 4k unit.

Q: 8. Can this backpack be used as a carry-on for domestic and international flights?

A: This has exterior dimensions of 27.55" x 14.56" x 7.87". Carry-on is normally 22 x 14 x 9, meaning this bag may be a bit too large.

Q: 9. What is the weight of this FlexTILT Head? The specs list only the weight of the package.

A: The weight of the FlexTILT Head is 1.62 lb (735 g).

Q: 10. How is this different from the Surface One?

A: The DollyONE is smaller and does not feature the Laser Pointer used for positioning.

GH5+600mm lens ... handholding? Ouch. FS700 with no rig .. handholding? OUCH! Rather than kit up some huge vest support system (which are great, but large and cumbersome making it hard to run and gun especially if you don't appreciate being noticed ...) I opted for thisPocket Rig 2 thing. It's not perfect .. I would say I wish I had otehr options for it, like a little longer, and/or more options for flex joints/angles, but it is definitely a big help. It is heavy .. .but very well engineered. The rod system is a great idea, and well implemented. A small follow focus and lens support for bigger lenses is in my future. I never did want to have a full rod/matte box rig ... sure they look cool and are quite useful but too much tweaking, as well as large. This will suit my needs for such. The pivot points are something you can easily tighten, and this helps immensely, however you want to really work with it to tighten the minimum for your needs .. this makes it easier to deploy, as well as reduces wear on the joints. I wish there was a dedicated slot for the 3mm hex key so it would always be with the unit. I wish the entire unit was smaller and lighter, but lost none of its functionality or strength. Hah. So I say good job Edelkrone .. another useful (niche) tool!

I own two PocketRigs, one for each of my GH4's. I use them all the time on all sorts of active shoots. This thing is solid, it's portable and it just works the way it's intended. I don't like nor use large shoulder rigs, and this well-designed pocket rig works for me. My camera attaches via it's tripod mount to a very grippy and secure base. The fold-out 15mm rods support my mic, another handle (used when I'm not filming and just need to rest), and a follow focus knob. The extendable shoulder (or chest) stock presses against me without collapsing. This is a small and very functional setup. With anything that you use regularly and professionally, you'll need to do maintenance. Any slop that was generated after weeks of use was simply remedied with a tightening of the specific areas that needed it. An allen wrench is included to do this. I am definitely a happy customer, and Edelkrone will make sure you are as well. One of my original PocketRig's 15mm rod broke when I dropped the entire rig, and Edelkrone had me back up and running in no time. I'm glad the rod broke because it saved the camera and mic from becoming casualties. It's a great product and it has, and will, continue to serve me on all my shoots.

This is the perfect rig for small, flexible productions!
BTW I read here comments which have nothing to do with this product, since they speak about Pocket Rig 1! The second-generation rig is much lighter and stable.

This tri pod works great. It is nocw and stiff, so it holds its position.
Ive used it for my camera and 3d scanner. It allows for some nice angles.
