Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Dies it work with 70-200mm f2.8 GII ED?

A: The GII is an earlier model than the newer ED version of Nikons 70-200 2.8 VR. If you have the older model, this lens foot will not fit properly. RRS makes a lens foot specifically for the G version.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the Nikon 200mm F2 VRII?

A: No, the Kirk LP-63NSG Replacement Lens Foot with KES Sure Grip Coating for AF-S NIKKOR 500mm is not designed for use with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200mm f/2G ED VR II Lens. Kirk does not list a replacement foot designed for use with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200mm f/2G ED VR II Lens. However, they do list the Kirk Universal Multi-Use Lens Plate with 2 Screws (4.5"), B&H # KIKLP4502NV2, as recommended for use with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200mm f/2G ED VR II Lens.

Q: 3. The RRS LCF-11 seems way over priced. I can get the, Kirk LP-64 Replacement Lens Foot for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens for $80. Does anyone know if their is a just cause for a $40 difference?

A: I have both the RRS on my 500PF and the Kirk on my 70-200mm. Both are first rate. The RRS has the ability to use the Magpul QD strap which the Kirk does not. Is it worth the extra $40? It is to me.

Q: 4. I own the FE 100-400mm and the original foot now shows a looseness even when screwed in to the max. The Looseness is from front to back. Unless I am mistaken, orginally there was no looseness. I am wondering if the design of this replacement will address this issue and offer a perfect thightness? Thanks!

A: I can answer my own question... The problem was not with the removable foot as I thought, but with the fixed portion on the lens where the removable foot attaches. That silver metal piece is screwed in the body of the lens. The screws unscrewed themselves due to vibrations in the Jeep on an African safari. I have now used removable Blue Loctite to insure that it does not happen again. I wanted to share it so that others can do prevention in making sure it does not happen to them and inflict bigger damage.

Q: 5. does this replacement foot is balanced enough to make the lens stands horizontally?

A: Yes it does, with and without camera if you remove the two little screws on the bottom (security stoppers).

Q: 6. Is it compatible with lens support kit, Kirk LS-1? Does it interfere with the lens hood of new Sony 70-200 f2.8 GM II 2nd generation when we reversed and attached lens hood on lens

A: Yes.

Q: 7. Can you properly balance a Nikon 500mm PF attached to a RRS LCF-11 on a Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head?

A: Yes you can , they are ARCA compatible

Q: 8. Is this compatible with th new Sony 300mm F2.8 GM?

A: Yes, the LCF-101 foot is also compatible with the Sony FE 300mm f/2.8 GM.

Q: 9. Does using the RRS Replacement Foot for Sony 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 still allow you to reverse and attach the lens hood for carrying and storage?

A: Yes, you may still use your lens hood and store your lens hood on your lens when using the Really Right Stuff LCF-101 Replacement Foot for Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS lenses.

Q: 10. Can you properly balance a Nikon 500mm PF attached to a RRS LCF-11 & a Nikon D850 on a Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head?
