Kodak's Professional T-Max 400 is a high-speed panchromatic black and white negative film featuring a unique T-GRAIN emulsion to provide a very fine grain structure with a high degree of sharpness and edge detail. It has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 400/27° along with a wide exposure latitude for rating the film up to EI 1600 and push developing. Its versatility benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and with moving subjects, and its fine grain profile, broad tonal range, and high resolving power benefit scanning and enlarging applications. Additionally, the film is well-suited to scientific and biomedical work, especially when fluorescence in photography is required.

This is 50 sheets of 4 x 5" film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I notice there are no bricks listed anywhere. Do you still sell them? (20)

A: Unfortunately, we no longer carry bricks of the Tri-X 400mm (35mm, 46 exposures) film.

Q: 2. Do you ship the film internationally? I'm concerned if the film goes through the x-ray machines during security checks and it will damage it

A: We do ship film internationally and we recommend using UPS as the carrier. They have mentioned to us that their x-ray machines would not have any effect on the film.

Q: 3. How many are there in the box?

A: One role per box: This item is one 36-exposure roll of 35mm film

Q: 4. Do you have pre-paid film envelopes to process and print negatives?

A: Hello,Yes we do. With A&I mailers, your film is processed and you get back a set of 4x6 Glossy or Matte finish, (with white border or no border) prints. Mailer service includes normal processing, printing & return shipping. For push processing enclose a check for $1 per stop.

Q: 5. where it says 27 in standard process, does that mean the chemicals need to be 27C (80F) when developing?

A: No, 400 ISO is equivalent to 27 DIN, has nothing to do with temperature. DIN was the older European version of ASA (now ISO).

Q: 6. Does the Kodak Tri-X 400 film come also in its original yellow box or only in the plastic container? Thank you

A: The Tri-X 400 film will come in a plastic film canister that will be packaged inside a cardboard box.

Q: 7. How much the cost's shipping to indonesia?

A: You may calculate your actual shipping options/order totals by adding the items you want to a shopping cart. It will then list the shipping options, descriptions, ETA's and fees to your location.

Q: 8. Is this a 24 or 36 exposure?

A: The Kodak TX 135-36 B&W (ISO-400) is 36 exposures.

Q: 9. Isnt this meat for saving some money by buying in bulk ? If a 100 feet make s about 19 rolls of 36 exposure, and costs this much, then its cheaper just to get the single rolls for 4.95. What s the point then?

A: Pricing is the prerogative of the manufacturer. Here apparently Kodak wants to drive the customer to the single roll rather then have them use bulk loaders.

Q: 10. When is the expiry date of the film

A: Current inventory in our 420 superstore has an expiration date of November 2022. Based on the batch received, inventory in possession might have varying dates around the same approximate time period.

With this film still available film will never be dead. Having shot and developed film for almost 50 years I can say this is the best ISO 400 film that I've ever used. It's a huge improvement over the original TMAX 400 film, it has a better tonal range and finer grain. The grain is as tight and smooth as many slower ISO films. In medium format use it's still better than B&W from top DSLR's.

I have used Tmax 400 for years and it is always consistent. The price for this Tmax 120 film at Band H is the best around!

I have been ordering my color as well as Black & White film from B&H for a number of years and the service is always good, the film comes in good time. Developing my own black and white film has been a hobby and I have enjoyed dealing with B&H for supplies.

My background: semi-retired professional photographer 30+ years experience who recently returned to film for pure enjoyment and nostalgia. I was very surprised and pleased when I shot my first roll of TMY2, I found it much better than the older version TMY. I processed it myself in Kodak TMAX developer at the rated ISO of 400. I found it to be virtually grainless with a very smooth tonal range, great blacks, whites and shadow detail. It's presently my favorite B&W film. I primarily shoot medium format and this film will easily hold up to a 30x30 enlargement. I used to shoot Delta 100 & 400, this film as changed my mind.

I have usually used Tri-X, and it is an excellent film, but I am very pleased with the results I obtained using T-Max 400.
