Q: 4. I feel 2nd stage center column (top most one) is actually a plastic material even thought it look like carbon material. Also screw threads of top 2nd stage column threads is plastic which can be screwed to round base. This plastic screw threads in long run usage will be like a 'weak link in strong chain'. A: I found this tripod to be well-made but so light weight that it had too much flex. I use a heavier mirrorless camera and it wasn't stable. I returned it.
