The shorter the lens' focal length, the greater the additional magnification.For example, using the full 68mm set with a 40mm pancake lens, magnification increases from 0.18x to 1.88x.Downside remains depth of field. 68mm extension with a 40mm lens results in depth of field the requires either a subject (and its plane of focus) be parallel to the sensor and/or focus stacking multiple frames. So, not sure what you're hoping for adding these to a 105mm macro lens, there will be some additional magnification, nothing radically different as with a shorter focal length.Can't help with crop factor differences, no experience, no interest.

A: If the Sigma is compatible with Canon's EF or EFS mount, they should work. Just remember, that the range of focus is severely limited or tight, leading many first time users to think that they can't focus their camera using them. They can, but it takes about 3 minutes of practice.

Typically, once they are jam synced, one is used to input timecode data into the camera and the other is used to do so into an audio recording device. Since you'd be buying two at once if you get the "Dual Set," you would not need to purchase an additional Sync E MK II Timecode Generator if you are only using two devices -- one for recording audio and the other (e.g. your Canon camera) for recording video. You could not do the synching without having two such jam synched timecode generators working at the same time, however.

Q: 8. Hi, I own a GH4 with a panasonic 20mm 1.7, and a 45mm 1.7. Will it work with the kenko extension tube?

A: I used mine on an Olympus OMD-EM10, and they worked very well. They should work on your Panasonic, with a few caveats. Since the Olympus has sensor-shift image stabilization, I could not test to see if they have the connections for IS on Panasonic lenses. Also, you will have a very short working distance with those lenses. The 45 mm should work OK, but the 20 may be a little short. I mainly use mine with a 60 mm macro, but have used them on a 12-40mm zoom (mostly at 40mm) and also with the Panny 100-300 zoom. The longer the focal length of your lens, the better the working distance, which is especially important for insects. The Kenko tubes seemed well built, so I bought a set for my Nikon camera too.
