The Countryman EMW Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is designed to reproduce vocals, musical instruments, and ambient audio sources with pristine detail and minimal handling noise. The capsule is highly resistant to moisture, making it a suitable solution for outdoor use, placement against skin, etc.

Clear audio reproduction with low rubbing and handling noise is a result of the EMW's omnidirectional polar pattern. The shelved frequency response features a smooth +6 dB boost between 2 and 15 kHz. This is the standard response for lavaliers worn on the outside of clothing (lapels, jackets, etc).

A wide variety of colors and connectors are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is black and features a Waterproof 2.5mm sub-mini connector for use with Lectrosonics wireless transmitters.

The EMW is available in three frequency response types and this version features a shelved frequency response that compensates for reflections lost when mounted on the outside of clothing and fabric. The shelved response is standard for lavalier microphones worn on lapels, jackets, etc.

The square EMW lavalier is available in a variety of colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin, allowing you to select the version that is best suited for your application.

The attached cable is made of durable, break-resistant Kevlar for rigorous use without shorts or wear.

The EMW is credited for providing pristine audio with minimal handling and rubbing noise, due to its omnidirectional polar pattern.

This square, moisture-resistant capsule is ideal for use in humid conditions, on skin, outdoors, etc.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be hooked up to a speaker to hear the recorded music?

A: Yes. It has a built in speaker as well.

Q: 2. Does this come with a carrying case that fits all the components?

A: A hard case is included.

Q: 3. recommended cable to export audio to camera during recording?

A: You can use a level matching cable to send audio from the headphone jack on the Zoom H6 recorder to the mic input on your camera. The Kopul ACDR-35 Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable (B&H # KOACDR35) or Sescom LN2MIC-ZMH4-MON Line Out to Camera Mic In Headphone Tap Cable (B&H # SEL2MZH4N25D) are both good options for compatible level matching cables.

Q: 4. Time code

A: No.

Q: 5. Can I run Audio Out from the H6 into the XLR inputs of the Canon C100 Mark 2? From the specs listed for the H6 it looks like it only has a line out. Any way to do this? Thanks,Sandeep.

A: This is a recorder and not a mixer. So it only offers outputs for LINE and HEADPHONE.Use a Shure A15AS - In-Line Pad with 15, 20 or 25 db of Selectable Mic Attenuation - XLR Barrel B&H # SHA15AS to attenuate the LINE signal and connect to the recorder with this adapter: ---------------------------------------------Remote Audio Unbalanced Adapter Cable 3-Pin XLR Female to 3.5mm RA TS Mini-Jack (18 ) B&H # RECAX3F18M

Q: 6. Is this a good mic for interviews? Like voice over quality interview? Im trying to choose between this or the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun mic, some help would be REALLY helpful.

A: I have compared the Zoom capsules to the MKE via YouTube demos and bought the MKE. It’s got a nice ‘broadcast tone’ but mildly so and not gauzy like an SM7b. It also has less noise and greater off-axis rejection than any of the Zoom capsules. Also, it’s free from the proprietary tethering which afflict the capsules. The mic is much larger and heavier, however. Ideally, you’d get both the MKE and an external recorder like this H6 or similar. I’d consider the capsules for limited budget, convenience & stereo recording but not for the utmost in sound quality, directionality or independence.

Q: 7. Is the 1/8 line out a balanced TRS connection?

A: Yes it is TRS, No it is not balanced. Its a stereo line output.

Q: 8. Has anyone tried Lithium Ion batteries in this unit? Do they work?

A: Lithium AA batteries work fine and may last two to three times longer than alkaline cells.

Q: 9. I am new to audio interfacing. There is a USB port on the recorder, does it work just as a file transfer or as a digital interface ie: Behringer UM2? I'd like to send audio via usb to MAC for use in Wirecast or other live stream encoding software.

A: The Zoom H6 Handy Recorder features a high quality USB interface that will enable you to send audio to a mac or pc computer.

Q: 10. how do you select line input vs mic input. Does it have a switch or it is done using the menu? Thank you

A: it is done using the menu quite easily.
