I love Rode mics: in this case, would opt for the Sony is you have a Sony with the interface shoe. Otherwise, the Rode is superior.

A: Yes, I love the mic. I pair it with my iPhone, gopro, and my canon dslr. For the iPhone I bought a monopod, already had a ball-mount/thread adapter, from B&H purchased a Melamount iPhone case. So the phone gets installed in the case (has 2 1/4 20 thread mounts and 3 mounting spots for the Rode Mic and video light). The case has 2 folding handles; think I paid $35 & shipping. The mic definitely increases the decibels.
