The white Yarden 8−T High−Performance Ceiling Tile Stereo Speaker from Kramer is a 2-way, 8" stereo speaker tile, which features a Kevlar cone woofer with rubber surround, four - 0.75" pivoting titanium dome tweeters, and a complete K−overage ESD (Equal Sound Dispersion) design for almost 180 degrees of sound dispersion. The speaker has a power handling capacity of 40W RMS with a frequency response of 80 Hz to 20 kHz @±3 dB.

The 8-T features a speech mode to improve intelligibility, a music mode for an extra wide frequency response, and stereo and mono modes to fit almost any type of installation. It also features a magnetically held grille (with two security screws) for time saving installation, a 2nd level cross−over design, and a multi−tap power transformer for selecting in stereo 8, or in mono, 4 ohms (bypassing the transformer), or 70V/100V power settings that are suitable for an array installation. The Yarden 8−T comes equipped with two differing grilles from which to choose from.

The speaker is suitable for use in conference rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, hotels, clubs, and restaurants.

Q: 1. I'm having awful feedback whenever I turn these on and plug in the RCA cables to the back of the speaker (the 3.5 mm end). Even without the RCA cable plugged into anything like my Topping A90 amp, it still creates the feedback noise. I've tried multiple cables now after this happened with the cables Genelec supplied, and it keeps happening no matter what. However, it stops once I remove the RCA cable from the back of the speaker. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a different cable? Any ideas?

A: It's a steady hum whenever it's powered on and the RCA cable is plugged into the back. If I plug in the other end of the RCA cable to anything else (my Topping amp, my other audio interfaces, etc.) the hum gets much louder. The RCA cable also seems to not fit the RCA input on the G1 or I have to use a tremendous amount of force to get the plug to even go halfway into the port.
