The Countryman E6i Cardioid Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The cardioid version effectively minimizes off-axis feedback and noise from nearby monitor speakers, instruments and noisy sources. Flexible microphone positioning is maintained and the included windscreen minimizes the wind noise often associated with cardioid microphones.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is cocoa and features a 4-pin Screw-on Mini connector for use with Sabine wireless transmitters.

A miniature cardioid capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters. The Duramax 2mm diameter cable provides extra strength, flexibility and durability.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing off-axis residual noise from e nearby monitor speakers, instruments and loud sources. The result is increased signal-to-noise ratio and minimal feedback. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning. The E6i is also available in an omnidirectional version for maximum control over wind noise and plosives (popping).

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture speaking and vocals without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does anyone use this with a canon 5D mark II? If so, how is it?

A: This should be just about right for the 5D Mark II and lens. That combination can be 4-8 lbs. and should be a sweet spot for the head. Reports are that it works well with much lighter cameras such as the Sony NEX 7 with success. Just be aware that while The S6 has adjustable counterbalance, tilt drag adjustment and pan/tilt locks, there is no pan drag adjustment. All in all however, you do get a lot of video head for the money.

Q: 2. Is this 100mm or 75mm? The Q&A here is contradicting the product description.

A: The Benro BV10H is indeed a 100mm bowl tripod head. https://benrousa.com/bv10-100mm-video-head/

Q: 3. Can the S8 video head be used effectively on a monopod - specifically the Benro A48FD? Benro offers S4 and S6 monopod kits, but they don't offer an S8 monopod kit, and I'd like the better panning features of the S8 when I use the head on sliders and tripods.

A: Look at the new Benro S7 video head, similar in weight to the S6 (which is great btw) but with the added panning adjustment of the S8 - the best of both worlds! Wish this existed when I returned my S8 to get the S6 because the weight (5.7lbs for the S8 vs just 3.2lb for the S7 and even slightly lighter for the S6) was just killing it's practical use outside the studio.

Q: 4. States that this is a 75mm bowl. But is it possible to remove the bowl so that it can be mounted on a flat mount tripod or slider?

A: Yes, this has a removable tie-down stud to convert to a flat base head.

Q: 5. What are the upgrades from the older S6 head to the S6Pro?

A: Many of the specs have remained the same. The pan and tilt ranges are the same as is the load capacity. It does however offer 5+0 steps of counterbalance compared to 3+0 Steps on the original S6 model. Also this model adds 1/4"-20 threaded holes on either side of the head to add accessories.

Q: 6. kinda new here...Is this head compatible with manfrotto 475b?

A: Yes, the Benro BV4 Video Head can mount to the 3/8"-16 screw on the center column offered in the Manfrotto 475B Pro Geared Tripod with Geared Column when removing the tie-down stud on the bottom of the Benro BV4 Video Head.

Q: 7. Is this a fluid head?

A: Yes this is a fluid head. I have not used it as much as I was hoping for yet. Probably because of the weight, but it's really smooth to use, so yes I can definetly recommend it :)

Q: 8. Is this head compatible with Really Right Stuff L plates?

A: RRS quick releases are based on the Arca-Swiss standard. That is very different than the Benro which is based on the Manfrotto standard.

Q: 9. That base REALLY looks like it's compatible with Manfrotto - is it?

A: The quick release is not compatible with Manfrotto tripods and vice versa

Q: 10. Does this use a standard 504 type camera plate?

A: It will work with a 504PLONG plate.
