Part of Joby's Action Series line, Action Grip provides steadier handheld shooting with your action camera while doubling as a flotation device should you accidentally drop it in water. An integrated three-prong mount at the top of the handle allows you to attach a GoPro camera. For use with cameras having a 1/4"-20 socket, an adapter is included. At the bottom of the handle is a detachable end cap that features a wrist strap for additional security against accidental loss and drops. Unscrewing the end cap lets you attach an optional extension pole or any other pole with the standard painter's pole threading.

A: The whole thing is plastic and very light. The only metal parts are the screws for the mounts and the cold shoe insert.

A: Yes, the camera screw has a 1/4-20 thread on the underside that can attach to a quick release plate or tripod. I put one on a Magnus VPH-20 and it fit perfectly and worked well! Just make sure that the tripod or head will fit between the rails.
