A: Apparently all inkjet printers work the same, therefore they have to be constantly used otherwise the printhead will clog. This may also depend on the environment the printer is located i.e. humidity, dusty, extreme dry area, etc... In all these cases in order to unclog the printhead, cleaning cycles are required which uses ink & fills up the 'waste pads'. My advice is to use the printer minimum once a week (a nozzle check is OK) & leave it powered on all the time & in a regular temperature controlled room & you'll get the max of the printer.
