Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I hope to carry my bag or equipments in an airplane. Is it airline carry-on compatible?

A: Yes it sure is, both domestic and international.I've had it all over the world.

Q: 2. Does anyone have a photo of the inside of the case? Is it smooth (along the inside bottom and top, in particular) or are there ridges? of kind.

A: The case is smooth inside with the exception of the wheel area.

Q: 3. would this work with a sony fs700, batteries, charge6r a sidefinder and shoulder mount?

A: No, that gear will not fit.

Q: 4. I just purchased the Pelican 1535AirTP. I'm concerned that the Trekpak inserts, as well as the perimeter material is too stiff to protect my cameras & lenses. Carry on would be fine, but if I have to check it? I guess a lot of people like them, so it's probably fine. Also, maybe the plastic "honeycomb" between the layers of foam does more to impact shock than either the yellow foam system or the pluck foam system. Thoughts?

A: We've found the protection from TrekPak to be incredibly supportive/impact-absorbing as well as more space-efficient that their traditional pick-and-pluck foam or padded dividers. Your results will vary due to how crazy the turbulence gets on your flight, but in all honesty we believe these offer the same level of protection as (if not higher than) the other interior options.

Q: 5. I've been researching this bag, and am ready to purchase but am running into an issue... I've looked at the 1510 Studio Case B&H#PE1510SCB but then I found this one, B&H#PE1510DB for nearly $80 less. The only difference I've been able to find is the ability to store my laptop in the sleeve, is that all I'm getting for the extra $80?

A: Yes that is correct. That is what makes the model more expensive is that Lap Top Compartment in the lid. That is the only difference.

Q: 6. Will the Canon C300 Mark ii fit in this case?

A: Yes

Q: 7. Will it fit a nikon 200-400 vr ii lens, a nikon 70-200 plus 2 portrait lens and nikon D600 + nikon D7100 with battery grips and a flash?

A: In my 1514 case, I currently have a Nikon 500mm F4P, which is just slightly longer than the 200-400 but a little narrower near the mount, with a D300 body on it. It's a tight fit lengthwise. Also in the case is a Nikon 80-400 with a teleconverter attached. That's perhaps slightly larger that the 70-200 2.8 (you didn't specify which one you have so I'll assume the larger/faster one). And finally I have a short zoom. There would likely be room for another camera body and one more short lens. I'm doubtful about the flash, however.

Q: 8. Can you add pick and pluck foam?

A: Yes you can here it is. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/330234-REG/Pelican_1510_400_000_1511_Four_Piece_Foam.html

Q: 9. will fit the Sony nx5u comcorder ?

A: The camera are Dimensions 15.3 x 7.9 x 7" and the case Interior Dimensions 19.8 x 11 x 7.6" , yes you can fit this camera into this case

Q: 10. Is the Pelican 1510 case waterproof?

A: Unfortunately even the manufacturer says its just watertight. I would have to agree with them because of the Automatic Pressure Equalization Valve. Now you can try Pelican's line of cases called Storm cases. These are waterproof and are used by the military but I don't know if there is any difference in prices for that benefit. Hope that helps. Cheers!
