A: You will want to use two separate timecode generators like the Tentacle Sync E mkII (B&H # TETE1MK2) to send timecode into the mic input of each Sony FX3 camera to record timecode onto each camera's audio track since the FX3 cameras do not have any built-in timecode features. The MixPre-6 II does have an internal timecode generator as well as timecode input and output connectors.

A: Range anywhrere from 10 to 20 feet away should be fine unless there is other interference that will reduce the distance like what Sound Devices quoted.

A: I've only experimented with regular Duracell AA alkalines, and it lasted about 20-30min. Would recommend getting the L-series adaptor before serious field use.

A: I have the Nikon Z6 and the MixPre-3 II and updated to the latest firmware on both. I set the Z6 to output timecode through HDMI, set the MixPre to receive HDMI timecode input, and connected the HDMI cable from the Z6 to the MixPre-3 II. The MixPre-3 failed to receive timecodes from the Z6. I also set the MixPre to trigger recording (by setting "HDMI Flag" in the record menu). However, it failed to trigger MixPre recording when I started recording on the Z6. Unfortunately, the MixPre-3 II cannot accept HDMI timecodes or triggers as of this date.
