Fomapan 100 Classic is a panchromatically sensitized, black-and-white negative

film designed for taking photographs

Meets high requirements for low granularity, high resolving power and contour sharpness and a wide range of halftones. Fomapan 100 Classic has a nominal speed rating of ISO 100/21° but due to its wide exposure latitude the film gives good results even when overexposed by 1 EV (exposure value) (as ISO 50/18°) or underexposed by 2 EV (as ISO 400/27°) without any change in processing, i.e. without lengthening the development time or increasing the temperature of the developer used

To make prints or enlargements, Extrabrom- and Fomaspeed-type enlarging

papers are recommended; however, all sorts of black-and-white enlargement

papers can be used

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do the pictures develop in black and white only? That's what I'm looking for. Thanks

A: Yes. Kodak Tri-X 400 is a roll of black and white film.

Q: 2. How many are there in the box?

A: One role per box: This item is one 36-exposure roll of 35mm film

Q: 3. Do you ship the film internationally? I'm concerned if the film goes through the x-ray machines during security checks and it will damage it

A: We do ship film internationally and we recommend using UPS as the carrier. They have mentioned to us that their x-ray machines would not have any effect on the film.

Q: 4. Is using a filter recommended, such as a yellow filter, when shooting landscapes?

A: I got very good results without using any filer.. Not sure what the subject will look like with a yellow filer..!

Q: 5. Hi, When is the expiry date of the film?

A: Unfortunately, we do not have access to the Kodak Professional Tri-X 400 Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) to read the expiration date before shipping. In general though, B&H does not sell film as new within 6 months of expiration.

Q: 6. whether you provide negative digital conversion (i.e., convert negatives to digital, say RAW, format)?...please say you do. thanks!

A: Yes I do! I scan them and convert them to tiff or jpeg format

Q: 7. When you develop Tri-X at home do your negatives dry clear and flat, or pink/purplish with lateral curl?

A: When you develop Tri-X at home the film base should be clear. If the base is pink/ purplish the film was not in the fixer long enough, or the fixer is weak. Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution (16 oz), B&H # KOPF200P will prevent the film from curling.

Q: 8. will this film work with the Nikon f90?

A: Yes. This will work with any 35mm camera.

Q: 9. Does the Trix Bulk come in tin package inside?

A: Kodak Professional Tri-X 400 Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 100' Roll) is wrapped in a black lab pack bag that is inside a metal container. .

Q: 10. I notice there are no bricks listed anywhere. Do you still sell them? (20)

A: Unfortunately, we no longer carry bricks of the Tri-X 400mm (35mm, 46 exposures) film.

One of the mostly classy films used over century shows the beauty with simple care when used. Fomapan 100 used as 50 to 80, with 20-25% developing time reduction gave me fantastic results from the recent B&H purchase. See attached photo.

Recently shot it in an Argus EL TLR (circa 1949) and liked the results. My metering was far less than perfect. It's also good in 35mm.

B&H is my go to for film. Fomopan 120 and 4x5 always delivers great results at a reasonable price.
Shipping is quick and well packaged.

I've shot a few rolls of this and I think it's excellent film: the price is unbeatable and the results are stellar. I started using this and the Arista EDU branded versions as my go to film.
